Thank you for this website. There were 5 of us who stayed at Tobago Suites. My sister's friend made the reservation and none of us had ever stayed there before but the pictures on the website looked promising and we decided on it. We occupied the only 3 bedroom suite whose only calim to fame is that each bedroom had its own bathroom. The place was dingy, the maintenance clearly lacking. The kitchen was not only small but inadequate with pots that needed scrubbing,(we tried to borrow a proper pot from the chef one night) no coffee percolator, cupboards in the kitchen under the sink were dirty (we washed everything and left the place better than we found it!. ) The bathroom needed a good scrubbing, light bulbs were missing from lamps, no towel racks (it was suggested that we should hang our towels over the door). And really just a coat of paint, some soap and clorox, some attention to the minor maintenance problems....Oh my God! the couch and chairs were absolutely filthy. We didn't really want to sit on them! And the swimming pool which looked olympic size on line was really small. I had to ask for a mattress cover to be put on my bed. Isn't this standard for hotels? The restaurant was closed and was going to open on the Monday after we left but the chef cooked us lunch one day. We did report all of our concerns to the manager who suggested that we speak to the owner. His excuse, was that it was really difficult to get workers in Tobago and they were in process. A little maintenance of the backyard, some paint and patching of holes in the kitchen, some good drainage so when you walked on the grass you wouldn't sink into wet filthy water would have gone a long way.Even the chairs near the pool were dirty and broken. (This can't be that hard to replace)! On the other hand the manager did try to address some of the issues (like putting in towel racks....they never got around to replacing the bulbs in the lamps in my room) and the staff seemed pretty nice...but for the money you pay just a little attention to everyday housekeeping would have made a huge difference. There were some nice curtains and cushion covers but they needed to be cleaned... There is no one on site overnight and security is provided by the casino security staff which is just a stone's throw away....After we cleaned, we became a little more comfortable, but I don't think I will stay there again...although my hardy Trinidadian companions thought that they might try one of the smaller suites. The place has potential and could be quite pleasant but the owner/owners need to invest some money into both the outside and the inside.
