Are you sure about that, Patricia. My information was that they were not returning to Tobago, but that there was a lady taking over the place. Michael had apparently been finding new homes for his pets, so it did seem clear that they weren't going to return.

Hi Steve, I was reading reviews on Tripadvisor of visitors who went and was told of the renovation plans. I just called the restaurant and a "Michael" answered and he relayed that he had just returned and was settling in and that renovations are taking slower than expected. They are uncertain as to when they would re-open. It looks like they will also be closed for the month of August.

If there is any truth to what you're saying, that's unfortunate. They had such great reviews. First Syps this year nowpossibly King's Cafe. Sigh.

With a bit of luck, my information is wrong and they are intending to re-open under the same ownership/management.

Mike told me just recently that they are hoping to open back for the new year.... a way too long time without his excellent fish for my taste :(

I am reliably informed that the King's Bay Café is now open again. The new owner is called Faith, and she can be contacted on 771-2711. It seems that she will be continuing the fish/hamburger type cuisine previously adopted by Mike and Joanne. I have no other information or details. Faith has a hard act to follow, but naturally we wish her well.

Hi All,
I just wondered if anybody has tried Kings Bay Cafe under the new management. We used to love calling in here for a meal

Hi Gill

I haven't tried it personally - it was closed the only time we passed by during our recent trip (a Sunday afternoon - may explain). However, I have had a few verbal and email reports over recent months. It appears that the place is now just a 'local' diner and not of sufficient merit to appear on any visitor's radar. Pity! Of course, if anyone has visited the place recently and knows different, please let us all know.

Thanks,

We won't make a special effort then. Maybe we'll try it if it's open when we go past. We're going to make the effort to try The Suckhole though, as that's been getting some great reviews
