Jellyfish and sea ants

Post by Jsd »

Hi everyone, I'm going to Blue Waters Inn near Speyside in September and I was wondering whether jellyfish and sea ants are likely to be a problem at this time of year ?
Also we would like to do an island tour but most tours seem to pick up in the south of the island. Does anyone know of any tours companies operating around the Speyside area that would do island tours and roughly how much they would cost ?
Thank you in advance

Hello JSD

Welcome aboard. 😃

We enjoyed a lovely week at the Blue Waters Inn in March this year (and last year too) and saw no sign of jellyfish and no issues with sea ants. The only problem was Sargassum weed, but the hotel were working hard to clear that.

Pretty much all the private tour guides are used to picking up guests from most places on the island, so start by contacting your guide of choice. My recommendation for an island tour would be Jason Radix of Eureka Tours or Brian Taylor of Alibaba Tours. No idea of current cost, I'm afraid.

We are there in September also and will be doing a day tour with Peter Cox (Peter Cox tours). Check out his reviews on tripadvisor.
