Tosca - Villa at Prospect

Post by Peter R »

 We stayed in ‘Tosca’ one the villas on top of the hill at Prospect. It is really very comfortable, air conditioning and fans keep you cool, and the views from the terrace or even the splash pool out towards Buccoo Reef are lovely, there is a barbie to cook the lovely fresh fish from the local fleet a mile away at Mt Irvine beach. We also had a housekeeper in to clean and make the beds etc and also someone to clean the pool every day. It was so quiet and lovely that we were tempted to stay here all the time. The front of the villa backs on to Grafton bird sanctuary, we had frequent visits from bird life and saw 20 species from the villa (though the Cocricos are a bit noisy!). Grafton Beach is only 10 minutes walk away or 2 in the car which comes in the deal, Adventure Eco Divers are down there too and we went for some great scuba dives with them, they are locals and great fun too, I did my PADI certification with them.
Also handy at the bottom of the hill is the Sea Horse and Indigo Restaurants, a cash machine, local store, fruit shack and Pizza hut. All very convenient. It proved to a very good base for exploring the island with most of the good beaches, Pigeon Point, Scarborough, Mt Irvine Golf Course etc within a quarter of an hours drive. We drove round the island, saw the birds being fed at Arnos Vale and did a rain forest walk. We’ve hardly scratched the surface of this lovely island with its gentle friendly people and will return to Tosca to enjoy more of Tobago.

Hi Peter

Welcome aboard!

Thanks for your review. Yes, we know Tosca on the Sanctuary Villa Resort - in fact we toured it last February and are considering it for a future review, so you're report was very opportune for us personally.

More Praise for Tosca

Tosca was a fabulous base from which to explore the beautiful island of Tobago. Our party was 2 OAP's, 2 children, & 2 in-betweens. There was plenty of space in the villa for all of us, & the villa was well equipped. Excellent location, & stunning views over Buccoo Reef. Stone Haven Bay was only 2 minutes away in the car so an early morning swim was a daily essential. Handy for supermarkets, easy access to Blue machine, and only 20 minutes from the airport. Very useful to have own laundry facilities with smaller children, & self-catering meant we could please ourselves when & what to eat. Highly recommend the Natural Mystic Trimaran Cruise, which included Barbeque & snorkelling. Also enjoyed visiting the Cotton House Batik shop in Bacolet Road. Lovely horse riding trip with Louise down Friendship Road. Altogether, it really was the holiday of a lifetime.
