do they count when the say "by order of managment" or "by order of THA" or "by order of the law"....
I particularly love the "no washing of cars" sign in scarborough, where not hard to guess, professionla car washers are active every day of the week...

I know Steve's one (I think!!), and I've mailed my guess to him, but didn't want to give the game away! The others, I'm mystified about (although I think I could hazard a guess at Stephs' "official" one!)... The one about the urinal though, I've NEVER seen... although I don't often look for urinals, I must admit!!!
This thread has had me in absolute hysterics! Steve, you may need to start a new subsection named "quizzes and games" at this rate!!
Lisa.

I have no idea where the pics have been taken, but I'll do three shots into the dark:
Picture one (..beyond the line): Charlotteville Post Office
Picture two (...beastly cold): Codrington's Castara
Picture three (Notice....): Entrance of Gilpin trail, rainforest
Old Oak brown please, Steph....

Hi Roland
Can't comment on picture 1 - that's got me beat!
Picture 2: No, you're miles out.
Picture 3: Confess that although I had seen the photo before, I still don't know where it is.
Lisa - you're spot on, but let them sweat a bit before saying.

My guess is that "Beastly Cold" is at Englishman's Bay.

This is getting really really silly now ...
We are told where to pee (and Lisa, they weren't being specific as to whether males or females should use those facilities), where to stand, where to buy beastly drinks, someone is going round taking photographs of random concrete pipes and someone else has actually inserted his upper torso into a cannon (for some reason that is drawing much speculation) and he thinks it is funny !!
Where is all this silliness coming from?
Couldn't we have a more constructive debate ... for instance ... the Blue Waters Inn should should raise their room toilets by 6 inches so that we can have a majestical view of Goat Island whilst performing one's daily duties (erm ... remember that post?)
Regards

Hi Hugh
You're getting even further away from the sign than Roland. One clue: you can't see the sea from the location of the sign.

you just want to change the topic, because you as "anorak anorak" don't know any of the answers....
but I must say the toilets are all too low on the island, not only for the view, but for old people with back pain to get up again...
now back to the riddle game... steve you did not answer my thoughts... the name of the bar is 007 and it is in les coteaux... do they have this sign?

Wow,
I go away for the weekend to our summer home (no internet) and then spend a day getting caught up and come back to this. Maybe we can blame it all on global warming because it's "frying our brains."
I'm nowhere near familiar enough with Tobago after only two visits to even venture a guess on the last three pictures so I'll just go along for the ride.

Hi Bill
You're probably going to wish you had stayed away - or that you didn't have the Internet at home.
Steph - sorry, I didn't see your earlier question. Clue two - its not in a bar.

Some great photos, folks!
I have a lovely photo taken a couple of years ago on the Roxburgh forest road that would add perfectly to the current discussion, but I can't see how to add it to my message. Steve, any suggestions? It doesn't have a weblink, just sits as a jpg on my PC.
Thanks
Jo

Hi Jo
I'm afraid that yu currently have no way of adding a photo to a post unless its already hosted on the web. However, I'm delighted to tell you that this facility will be coming to the forum, hopefully within a month or two.

Steve W,is it the bar in Carnbee(Good times?)

Hi David
You're ignoring my comment/clue to Steph, above, when I said its not in a bar. Having said that, you're so close that you can almost cool your hands on those beastly beers.

The rum shop across the road from the newspaper shop---next to the street stalls???
Posted: Wed Aug 22, 2007 1:15 pm
by Steve Wooler
No, not that close! It is NOT somewhere normally associated with the sale of alcohol. In fact (clue 3), its in a place where the patrons would be well advised to keep clear of the said product. That's giving it away!
