No Sandra,
You're not nosey at all; just taking an interest.
Our mouldy old cupboard has a new ventilator and is no longer mouldy (but still old) and now smells as fresh as a daisy ......for now. Lets hope the damp course works on the rest of the wall. The last one was guaranteed to last 30 years, but only managed 23. As for the front of the house (we are mid - terrace) so far, so good. The damp course there was also guaranteed to last 30 years....
The book? Well you could spend your whole life obsessively checking and re - checking and finding bits you think you should change. I expect painters and musicians have the same problem.

Ladies! You care me. I just got letters from my local authorities my identification card is about to expire (hope, that is the right word). Also my passport which I need to go to Tobago.
The costs of the ID-Card is around 9 Euro (maybe 6 Pound). The costs of the passport are rising to 90 Euro!!!

Hello??? Is it gold-plated gold-plated? You need your fingerprint on it and a special photo...
I think I have to hurry up because I plan to go in April 2009.
I hope you will get you passport soon.
Cheers

Gisela,
When I applied to have a new passport done here in Tobago (via the British High Commission in Trinidad), the cost for the passport was over 900TT, so about 90 GBP - and apparently that's the standard price! The REALLY annoying thing is that it was for my 2 year old daughter, so it only lasts five years. At that point, we have to have another one done! To their credit, however, I sent the information (by 'Trackpack' - a registered-mail type thing) by post to them, and within ten working days, it was back here with me. That was pretty impressive!
You can get last-minute holiday breaks for cheaper than the cost of the passport!! Sigh.
Lisa.

Uuuh Lisa,
900 TT$ ???? A passport for your 2 year old daughter???? Are they crazy? That's daylight robbery! The passport I will order is valid 10 years and has a fingerprint and other security things on it. I don't think they have this on Trinidad (or Tobago) It's the only way for Germans if you want to travell to US/Caribbean and Asia. For Europe (I guess also for England

) I only need an identification card (9 Euro).
And I thought they only do this in Germany

In the UK identity cards are not yet in our system the government are pushing for legislation but the majority of the population are not convinced - to say the least ! In fact I feel it simply wil not happen - we are pretty laid back but the moment our personal data can be used, or abused, on such a level, we can become quite reactionary. As to passports, sorry , but even though we have had a terrible time in the last two weeks I can appreciate the need for double, triple, checking. I was so annoyed due to the fact that we had been assured everything was fine by our Post Office. Plus the fact, in these days of global warming and all the other doom and gloom, if you can afford to trravel you are damned lucky.
P.S How is Sammi doing ? Hope all is going well, do let us know.

Hi all,
Noe, how is the book going? Still correcting and finding things to change? I guess to write a book is as hard as to paint a picture or create a song.. I know you will do you very best.
Sammy is fine. He was a bit p***d off when I spend two evenings out in one week but still my friend. He finds some new spaces where to hide and most of the time he is hungry
Had a phone call last night to Tobago. Everone is fine, not much guests and lot of rain but everyone is relaxed

I told them I will try to come back in April and they are looking foreward to see me.
Happy sunday
Gisela

Good to know you are fresh as a daisy - I creak with monotonous regularity. So, come on, there is proof reading and .... Sorry,we all need to know. Is the book on its' way , needs more tweaking or are you now happy. Realise it is "your baby" but as a Queen you surely do need to communicate with us lesser mortals. We may be a little stupid but without information we could riot - could Surrey cope ?

Hello from the Colonies,
Sorry to have been so long without posting but I've been real busy lately setting up a photo website for my Grandson's college swim team. The weather has turned nasty here, had our first snow of the season Monday.
Carol, I agree with Sandra, your subjects are getting restless. We don't have the patience for "your baby" to be an elephant.

Looks like the peasants are revolting!
Sandra,
Wish I was as fresh as a daisy; more like a worn out old boot
Bill,
So you have talents as a webmaster then?
Nellie the elephant is nearly ready, watch this space...

So that's it the White Elephant has a name!
Find it on

I will be happy if just one person buys it, or preferrably enough to recoup the cost of MY copy ( though a few thousand would be nice!)
I've been cheeky enough to make a separate topic about it if you want to read that too.
Back to restoring the lost preview....

HELP PLEASE!!!!
You are my friends aren't you?
It's been suggested that the title of my book is boring and doesn't hint at its being funny, so, as I 'm not good at titles, do you have any suggestions as to how to make it more amusing?
As long as you don't try and claim the copyright....
Love

Dear Queen Noe,
congratulations to your book! Well done! I ordered on Saturday and I wonder which cover the book will have when it will be delivered.

anyway I'm longing for the delivery and will let you know when I received it.
The delivery costs to Germany is more than the price of the book

Anyway, I'm looking forward to you read your book!
Cheers

Gisela, many thanks.
I tried to keep the cost of the book as low as possible, so that I make about £0.90 per book (about 1 Euro?) but the transportation cost is RIDICULOUS! And it will be printed in Spain!!!
Mind you, postage within the UK is ridiculous too...
You will get the old cover, but the same contents.
Love Noe
PS Am willing to reduce profit if I need to.. I'm not greedy..

Hello Carol
I also ordered it on Saturday so I will also have the limited edition collectors version, I will let Leita and the 2 friends who are coming with us read it on the sun beds by the Naturalist when we visit in January and I might take them to the "scene of the crime".
We live close to where they filmed Howards Way in the 1980s and they take paying customers on trips to the popular places so I think I might have a really good scheme for me to pay for my future stays in Castara (for Gisela and Bill this was a popular soap opera and you can get the idea of it on Youtube).
Looking forward to a good read
Paul

Thanks Paul!
Hang on to that limited edition, it will be worth a fortune one day!
Gosh, I used to love Howards Way, the British Dallas, it was the highlight of the week. We still have the music somewhere, on something called a 'cassette', remember them? I remember watching it in the maternity ward with my new born son in my arms (now 20 and 6ft 2)
My grandad lived in Hampshire. He had a first floor flat in Havant, and on a clear day could see the Isle of Wight. He smoked until he was 79 (when the doctor told him to give up!) never had a day's illness in his life and died peacefully in his sleep at the age of 92.
I have a photo of him taken in army uniform outside Notre Dame Cathedral in 1919. I took it to be restored and the photgrapher put it in his window.
Hey I'm waffling....
Don't forget to go down Depot Road when conducting your tour.

Thanks M'dear!
What do you mean "At last" young lady?
You need a machete to hack through the dust and cobwebs in my house, and as for the kitchen floor...
I must confess that I had help with the title and description from a very helpful person on a writers forum, as I'm not too hot at that side of things.
So now I belong to three forums; this one, the Lulu forum, and Writers Dock. It's all getting to be too much really.
See ya!
