Well now Young Bill,
As all the lovely ladies including myself, have chosen to ignore the audacious comment from Paul
'Agent Provocateur' Tallet I suppose as Queen I must take up the weighty burden of a suitable reply.
Where do I start?
I was most disappointed to see that you weren't in the gallery of inmates in the Doghouse. Have you done some serious grovelling to your DW? She really shouldn't be so soft on you.
I studied the clip with great care and yes, I agree that it does fulfill a need and provide a worthwhile public service in helping to give you men an idea of where you are going wrong.
BUT! I must confess to feeling a little let-down, dismayed and patronised, but not surprised, to discover that it is not a public service broadcast, but an ad for a jewellery company. Commercialism, commercialism, commercialism at every turn.(sigh)
Why do I feel patronised? Because these PR/Ad people think that all it takes to make a woman happy is to give her a piece of carbon in one form or another, and I feel it my duty to warn all you hapless males that that ain't necessarily so...
I for one would be pleased with a piece of carbon but I wouldn't jump up and down and squeal, or whatever it was the ad said, especially as in my case Himself would say: "keep it for special occasions", which would mean it would be left languishing in its box for years until I forgot its existence, and would not guarantee his release from the Doghouse.
You have been warned!
As for you Tallet, if you know what's good for you you'd better take yourself back to your weather station and barricade yourself in with some rum and coconuts before the Dog Warden comes...

Oh well ... you can't please everyone ... but I have mitigating circumstances ... I am swiftly degenerating into 'Tobago Holiday Mode' (THM) and I sense that everyone will give me full support considering the well known seriousness of this condition
At least give me some credit for admitting it !!

A very Happy New Year to all you lovely people.
Steve
Should have said thank you for this wonderful site - sure my parents are turning in their graves at such bad manners. That said I wish you and yours all good wishes for 2009.
Carol
First resolution keep writing, next resolution keep writing. Hope 2009 brings - ? Fill in the dots .

Freliche Newe Jahre
Sorry - but I tried- hope you have a wonderful 2009. Am so looking forward to meeting you.

Cheers ! I raise a glass my friend. May 2009 be full of love and laughter.
Pete
As subversive as you are Mr. Tallet I still have a modicum of grace to say I wish you joy. Enjoy 2009 !
Santa
Enjoy the Caribs and resolve not to be a stranger on this waffle.

Pete?
Who he?
I am now going to defend Pete too. I must admit to liking a bit of subversion.
Thanks for your good wishes Sandra, and may I echo them and wish you all a Happy You Know What.
Whilst I'm here, I've noticed that someone, somewhere has given my book the maximum 6 star rating! If it was one of you folk, then a big
X and a thank-you.
If however it was someone else out in the ether who doesn't know this site exists, well, thank you anyway. Good vibes to you. Maybe your name is Pete...
See ya!

Hmmm ... sounds like 'Subversive Pete' could be an inspiration for the next novel

Hi All,
by the way Sandra, its called "Frohes neues Jahr" in German but I really like your version

And if I wasn't German I would never have the idea to learn this language. It's so difficult even for the Germans. I adore everyone who try to learn German.
And 'Pete'

you should have learned that we never take you serious

especially after the thread about the underpants.....
Noe, who ever gave you the maximum star rating was right. I didn't know that there is a ranking. Will check it when I received the next books I ordered (the 3 for my friends in Castara).
Have a nice start in the new year 2009!
Cheers

Gisela,
I'm getting concerned about you my dear. I have a feeling that you are just a tad obssessed with Subversive Pete's equally subversive underpants.
I also note that you are counting down the days until take-off, so it seems that you have caught a dose of Watkinsitis...
But thanks again for your endorsement of my book; you are my best customer! So far that is....
I learned a little German at school, but I'm afraid I've forgotten most of it now, as I have most of the French I learned too.
And Bill,
I hope you approve of this latest piece of confusion: Dave=Sue, Steph=Brian, Brian=Ali Baba and now Paul= Subversive Pete.
Keep it up folks!
Noe

Greetings from the waffler formerly known as Bill,
It's good to see that we're headed in the right direction for the new year.
Noe, I'm in the 'not rated for polite company' version of the video
Prince
(since the performer formerly known as Prince isn't using his name I might as well)

Dear Queen, I apologize!
Please have mercy
It's all just because of my minimal knowkledge of the English language.....
And I swear I never get obsessed in anything concerned with Pete or his f*****

underpants
I guess I better shut up now
Cheers

Oh Sandra, thats bad!

Business is always damaging the really important things ...
Sorry, to hear that but so you have more time to long for the next holidays on Togabo. Just try to see it this way and scream if it helps.
Cheers

Where are you ? Am stuck here waiting for a delivery - ring any bells ? Being horribly nosey need to know how 2009 is going in your neck of the woods.Hope you are fit and healthy and not bored with us all !

Now Sandra,
Am I bored with you all? Certainly not!
Actually I've just been exchanging email jokes with young Gisela! And I still have a photo of a hunky Tobagonian lifeguard that she sent me...
I've been receiving regular notifications about the Weather Feedback thread, so I log on, make a cup of tea and relish the latest rivetting instalment of The "Tantilising Tales of the Two Tallets in Tobago". I feel that any contributions from me are entirely superfluous.
I'm also VERY jealous!!!!
See ya later,

Don't get jealous, get even. Give OH a stern talking to. If that doesn't work I've always found going on strike has the required effect. Before you know it you will be digging out the holiday wardrobe.

Hi Ladies (and guys if around),
Carol, I hope you did not show the photo around because then in a short while the whole beach of Castara will be crowded of young and screaming girls and woman..... running behind this liveguard
Sandra, any new information about the contract and/or the holiday bookings?
And, yes, Tallet tales about the weather on Tobago can make one cry and be jealous but...
... 54 days to go

. When Paul is back I will still have my holidays and I'm staying
3 weeks
Cheers

Hi Gisela
I only ranted for a day or so which is very constrained for me. OH still here waiting for paperwork from India. No worries, have booked from the 29th. April for 2 weeks, if he should be late home he can fly over a day or so later, loads of Airmiles so not a problem. Still seems a long way off but now I have a date I feel sooooo much better.
Hope you and Sammy are well

Hi Sandra,
glad to hear you could book your holidays. Not nice that I will miss you. I already missed 'Pete' and David and probably will miss Paul and Leitha
But still there will be a lot of nice people and I'm sure I will enjoy myself as hell
There was something wrong with my counting, still 54 days to go...

Hi Gisela
I am now counting down with you ! OH off to India tomorrow so schedule is fine. Thank you for your concern and so sorry we will not meet up - hopefully next year. I strongly feel 2010 should be a year of concerted effort, all the mad people on this waffle should make a pledge! If even 6 - 10 of us could be there at the same time - tellin' you that island will rock !

hi Sandra,
counting down is the best thing to get prepared for holidays

-52 days
Last night I was thinking about, what OH means. Can't remember if you gave an explanation. I don't want to get unpolite but does it mean 'Old Husband'? 'Our Highnesty'? 'Original Homie'?
A friend of mine is planning to visit me for 3 weeks on Tobago and when she will book the flight I have to change my guesthouse plannings. But I don't think this will be a thing.
Why in 2010? OK, I already plan to go in 2010 but I will prepare a big (Zero) birthday in 2011 and some of my friends already told me they will come to my party. At the moment it looks like around 10 Germans will be there with me in July 2011.
Everyone who will be around then is invited
