As I saw on a birthday card with a picture of a corset: "thank-you for your support, I shall wear it always".
And as some comedian said: "I'm in a funny mood. Hope it lasts."
Lots of love,

Greetings All,

Calm down and relax. Noe knows that I'm just kidding around with her and having a little fun

Last thing in the world I'd want is for her to stop her ramblings and funny stories. If she did I'd have to find another way to pass the time at the office, and now that everything is in the tank there certainly isn't enough real work to do :x

Hey Young Bill!
What does 'in the tank' mean? I hope it just means that all the tax returns etc are done, and not that business is slow. 8-[

Noe,

Unfortunately 'in the tank' means the latter, that business has dropped off significantly :(

And actually filing taxes is becoming even easier - the new form is rumored to have only two lines. Line one will read "How much did you earn last year?" Line two will read "Enclose a check for the amount shown on line one and post immediately"

Sadly there's a definite knock-on effect being felt here (for the most part).

Hope it's over for all of us soon! Definitely in time for next High Season - 'cos this year, we didn't have one!

Lisa.

Hmmm ... no we won't ... and it's not a recession ... it's a new type of depression ... new ground ... did anyone get the QE effect? ... Quantitive Easing ... AKA making money out of thin air?

We are in new territory ... get your corsets on (my underpants are on) ... get ready ... tough times ahead

But you have to smile.

It was Autumn and the Red Indians asked their new Chief if the weather was going to be cold or mild.As he was a modern Chief he couldn't tell. So to be on the safe side he told his tribe that the winter was indeed going to be cold and that they should collect wood to be prepared. However, as a practical leader he decided after several days it may be an idea to contact the National Weather Service. He walked the many miles to the nearest phone booth and asked " Is the winter going to be cold ? ". "It looks like the winter is going to be quite cold indeed " responded the weather man. So the Chief went back to his people and told them to collect even more wood A week later he called the National Weather Service again. "Is it going to be a very cold winter?". "Yes" the answer came, "It is definitely going to be a very cold winter". The Chief returned to his tribe and and ordered them to collect evey scrap of wood they could find. Two weeks later he again rang the National Weather Service, "Are you absolutely sure this winter is going to be very cold?". "Absolutely" the man replied "It's going to be one of the coldest winters ever". The Chief asked "How can you be so sure ?". The weatherman replied "The Red Indians are collecting wood like crazy "

Afternoon all!

Having been away for a while I thought I'd catch up with the forum.

Now I know what I've been missing. In the last 3 weeks this thread has gone thro' so many topics - bodice-rippers, Minehead, peanuts, weather, red indians, ................... Paul's underpants  .

It's really cheered me up - and I shall continue to look forward to my lunchtimes when I get the chance to catch up with the gossip.

Thanks all!

Jane

Haven't tried Twitter - but I'm on facebook (under my married name - Borrett). I don't dare sign up for Twitter too... I spend enough time on the internet as it its!! Which is mostly the reason that I have less of a tan after (nearly) six years than I did when I arrived!

Steph,
Use that paint-on stuff, if it doesn't melt. But why worry? Are you not a blonde? Stay pale and interesting! it also shows that you are far too busy to lay in the sun.
What amuses me is that the darker races, mainly Asians, buy stuff to make their skin look lighter
