Oh dear,
Just glimpsed Pete of the Underpants' avatar, which reminded me: Didn't he say he goes for the all-over tan?

thats how he never washes it....takes it off for the overall tan and aires it out in the meanwhile...men don't wash, they air out and wear it again("smells still fresh")or they put it in the dryer ("five minutes in the dryer and its good again"). might be one of the resaons god decided to make women...?

Excuse me ... what is all this continuing fuss about my underpants?

And I will have you all know that (if you read previous contributions) I wash them myself ... and iron them.

As sure as everyone with a car has a spare tyre I carry spares too ... accidents can happen

Regards

Paul,
We have no need or desire for this particular nugget of information about your private life.

Why didn't you explain earlier - of course with all those spare tyres buying new underpants would be very embarassing. My apologies.

Greetings All,

Don't know if I'm seriously breaching protocol but I'm on-line at the same time as "Her Majesty" The next thing you know she'll probably want me to send her an I-Pod

Hope all of you have a Happy Easter.

That's very kind of you young Bill. I'll keep an eye out for the postman...
Actually I've just acquired a steam-powered secondhand laptop of my Very Own, but I'd prefer a brand new one. One of those small thin jobs...
I've given up trying to be thin myself. :(

You used the F word - thin !!!!! Although the Queen I feel such vocabulary is unbecoming to your status.
A very traumatised subject.

Once upon a time there was a young, dark-haired man with dimpled cheeks, which lent him a certain boyish charm.
He worked hard caring for his boys who were probably also dimpled and charming, and he had a great love of the little Caribbean island of Tobago, and as a pastime was a weather expert.
To the outside world his name was Paul, but his friends knew him as Pete- Subversive Pete. He was notorious for his possession of exceptionally lethal underpants - which I will not describe at this time - and spare tyres.
He carried those tyres everywhere that he went, even when not driving, which was a source of great puzzlement to all those whom he met. His answer, when asked the reason why he should go to all the trouble of carrying them around, was, "Accidents will happen." He never bothered to explain exactly what kind of accident could happen when walking around that would require the carrying of tyres, and we won't trouble our heads with it.
He was ruled over by the Queen of Waffle, who kept a stern but kindly watch over him in all his comings and goings, and who endeavoured to keep him from harm.
One day the Queen, in a momentary lapse of concentration, let her guard down for a moment and hinted that she was less than thin. Pete immediatley latched onto this statement, and asked if she carried spare tyres too, in a reference, one can only assume, to the kind of metaphorical 'spare tyre' that one carries around one's middle in the form of extra flesh, like that in a camel's hump. Her answer, apart from, "Don't be so impertinent young man," was to say that a woman's tyres are always strategically placed to enhance her womanly charms, and that Marilyn Monroe was a size 16.
She then said, "Orf with his head!"
Let that be a lesson to all would-be subversive Petes out there.
Goodnight children, everywhere.

Hi Carol

Belatedly just wanted to say how much I enjoyed Caribbean Capers. I gave a copy to my sister and brother in law, Sara and George, for Christmas which George read before lunch on Christmas Day!!

I'm a novice poster and this is my first post ever to any forum and it has taken me a long time to pluck up the courage to say anything.

Bit of background - I visited Tobago in 2004 on the recommendations of Sara and George who have been there several times and in fact got married at Arnos Vale some years ago. Reading the forum has made me feel part of the community and I felt that I had to join in if only to say thank you.

Hi Kathy,
Welcome to the forum. Well done =D> It took me a while to find the courage too but I have found lots of support and friendship since I joined.I promised myself that I would not read my copy of "the book" til I was lying on a beach chair in Tobago and it has been hard keep the promise but I fly next week so I can do it :!:
I am sure you will enjoy being part of the happy, if slightly unbalenced band of forum users.( sorry folks but you know it's true  )
Happy waffleing
Gill x
