We don't have moles in our garden, l but I wouldn't let Himself get rid of them. I believe in live and let live as far as possible. WE are the creatures messing up the earth!
Well, Cocricos are somewhere between dark green and dark gray. And ugly and noisy. Ask Sandra when she is back

If you happen to plant nice flowers in your yard and THIS happens to you, i bet you will no longer think of
what humans do to nature but what YOU can do against the blasted moles
Everything from 12-gauge to SEMTEX as well as chemical and biological weapons of mass distruction will
come to your mind ...
I haven't seen a mole in Trinidad or Tobago, though ... what the heck i care about all your moles digging up your
yards in Europe

Quite correct Carol ... you shouldn't ask ... but I can answer ... it's my emotive response to good and bad things.
I had to go fetch my underpants from the knicker draw again last night while watching 'Life' ... it was unbearable to watch those nasty Leopard Seals scoffing all those Baby Penguins so the underpants were flying all over the place.
But as soon as I saw the tiny frog mother carrying it's young vast distances to safe places in the rainforest ... and then going back to feed them ... to ensure their security and future ... I became at peace with myself again, folded my underpants and put them back neatly in the knicker draw.
No harm in expressing yourself is there ??

Dear Pete
How nice to find such a sensitive soul in this day and age. Bless !
PS - Sandflies think I am a Royal Banquet - we both obviously have Royal blood.
Andy
Sorry, the birds we all love and adore did roost elsewhere last night. As I said - your neighbour may get a call !!

Thank you for your support Sandra.
The funny thing about the sandflies is that they have not bothered me that much for the last 2 years apart from one nasty bite on my eyelid ... and that was a right Royal do !!
I guess that the more you go the more your defences get organised against these fiendish creatures.
This 'quantitative easing' is going to have a bit of a bad effect on the £ v $ from the £ point of view ... so still not sure if I can go next Feb ... it the DecDec Plan (Decision in December) this time ... but at worst it could only delay the inevitable.
I wonder if anyone knows if the inevitable could ever happen
Work that one out
Regards

Yes Paul, I am also concerned about the exchange rate but we are just gonne have to make the best of it. More home cooked fish dinners and less eating out is the only way I can think of economising. If anyone else has any ideas on saving money while on Tobago I would be pleased to hear them.
Also... I think that the inevitable is happening constantly. More so than the unpredictable or unexpected. But then I guess that these are happening all the time too.
Hmmm! It's a funny old world.

Yep Tony.
The Bank of England is proposing to make another £75 billion out of thin air ... so perhaps a 20% fall in the value of the £ to come and with inflation and interest rates so low, few will want to invest in Sterling (even though the £ would be a bargain for a long term investor) ... so it will probably stay low for a long time.
Not good for us and not good for Tobago businesses ... I hope that the (already rather expensive) restaurants in Castara take this into consideration or there are plenty of fish in the sea
Regards

Hey Tony and Pete,
as for I live in the € (Euro) area the value of the $ and British Pound is the only chance for me to go back to Tobago. Especially when I go along London. I will never understand why the € is so strong but surely take the benefit.
Don't worry yourself, one day it will be the other way again.
Cheers
Gisela
PS: Pete, why are you mentioning the underpants again? Do you believe it keeps the sandflies away? Still nobody wants to have them...

Well here's a first, I've quoted myself! You will see my dear Gisela, that I was indeed guilty of underpanting, for which I humbly apologise.
And Pete/Paul, yes I saw that programme too. What about the mother octopus who starves herself to death for her young? Had to get the tissses out for that one.
Oh and David Attenborough should be President of the Planet. This one, not the moon.

Paul, Gisela.... I don't want to hear nothing about all your exchange rates.
Sandra,
i am glad to hear you were not bothered by the Tobagonian Air Force. At least so far.
As for the sandflies, try to eat plenty Curry, Garlic and Peppersauce, like a local.
The bugs will appreciate your effort, sooner or later and leave you alone. I hope nobody else will, too

I know Carol ... I ran out of tissues for the Octopus ... but they are intelligent creatures aren't they? ... did she realise what she was doing or was she just another drama queen? ... she was filmed doing that for over 6 weeks.
I guess that if you check the BBC's end of year returns you may see how much she got paid for that performance
Long live David Attenborough ... what a first class narrator.
Andy ... the exchange rates can be the difference to me coming to Tobago or not, so they are very important in my world ... but I will try as always

Paul,
i understand, it is just that for years we were watching the Sterling being unreasonable high, making it impossible for
many to travel to the UK.
The inflation for food stuff has come to a halt here, just drinks got a bit extra import tax, and many guest houses / villas offer special rates, so that shoud, partly, make up for the lower exchange rate.
Sometimes one or two drinks less per day may be a healthy change, too

What?
Less drinks?
Have a word with yourself

Think Andy must have had a knock on the head. As every sane person knows economising on alcohol is simply not an option.

Noe,
Have a great time.
Andy,
I agree with the rest that if necessary one can eat peanut butter and jelly sandwiches before even contemplating on the possibility of compromising on drinks.
