All done, it was only a virtual doll in my head and I'm now concentrating on the stroopwaffels.

can you stop whispering PLEASE!
I'm absolutely capable to keep your package for steve as long as he needs to get you butt over....
new deal: stroopwaffels against sachertorte....?!
oh and by the way, steve don't dare to think about touching any german-girl-lives-in-tobago-IN-THE-BEST-SPOT-OF-CASTARA-vodoo-doll...
digesting is hard enough with all this white bread.....
by the way, we never complained about the british rush, why should we when the kaaskopps come. espaecially because they have (and bring) the better food.....HAHAHA!
steph
sorry to wet your keyboard steve, seems your beard isnot long enough to catch all of that.....

@ steph! You are too funny!
It seems to me that the type of people who choose to go to Tobago prefer to get away from their fellow countrymen rather than meet up with a big troop of them somewhere else. Correct me if I'm wrong...
Steve,
Thanks for the welcome. After being directed to this site by one of your board members, I spent a few weeks -ahem- lurking before finally deciding to take the plunge and join today. Not sorry I did. It looks as if you know how to make the best of a situation: the "invaders" bring good food! Notice that they're all starting up in November. Now if that doesn't sound like a conspiracy
Arianne,
You must visit Castara, if only to hand over the stroopwaffels to Steph. Well it's a pretty good excuse to get you over there. If I'm able to stay in the same place as last time and I see someone coming down the road with a load of stroopwaffels, I'll know it's you! I'll raid my stash in the fridge and join you. BTW, although I've lived in Amsterdam forever, I'm not Dutch. Enjoy Carnbee!

Woo Hoo!!!

music to my ears, steph...
look out for me, then- will be on vacation in December.
I'll be the young lady calling at your front gate, snacking on bene ball & already high on a sugar-rush.
(btw, have you or anyone else come accross polourie in Tobago? If not and you're a doubles fan, you've gotta taste this!)

Carla!
OK, that did it. I will trade you stroopwaffels for pilau, roti, doubles or any Tobagonian home cooking ANY TIME. You've got me curious about polourie too. I even like fry bake better than stroopwaffels
No, I don't consider this bribery; it's an excellent deal. So tell me how much to bring. Would a cubic meter do?

deal!
and once we're in tobago same time of year, you'll get your fill of goodies...
(see, steph...? i know how to make good deals-coulda been good 4 business. you should've hired me

)

To be perfectly honest, I don't really like stroopwaffels and I'm also quite happy that nobody has brought up the subject of the "undutchables" and their love for "drop". Don't get me started!
Still doesn't mean I'm not willing to trade or appease some special appetites...

Wow, Carla, you got in there just before me. What's cookin'? Now we're talking!

Kate,
Hi! wat's up?
'k, so, here's the deal: like i told steph, i go on vacation in december this year. if your'e there same time, you bring me the stroopwaffels and you've automatically got yourself some delicacies.(you would also have made a new liming friend in the process

)
Here's what i picture: Days with either roti, pilau or polourie, Carib, beautiful sunshine and Tobago beaches. What do you think?

Nice Karin..you run away with my idea! Now I'm the one stuck behind without all these delicious home cooking stuff....can I bribe someone too??
Steph, don't worry, I trust you with Steve's wafels.
I'm stepping out of this forum now, because my weight is growing even thinking of all this delicious food!

Arianne, no need to get all flustered, dear....
simply bring a stroopwaffel my way and I'll be happy to whip up something for you

If both you and Kate agree, we can do all exchanges same time- you know, make it a bigger lime....
you guys let me know what you think

Carla,
"If both you and Kate agree, we can do all exchanges same time- you know,
make it a bigger lime....

"
I think that would be great
Except that Steph will probably be the only one there in December when
you go. I have been aiming for the last half of October (same as Arianne, I believe) but haven't booked yet. Getting back on topic, I'd also like to avoid the big Dutch rush, although my timing depends on $$$ (life of a free-lancer). Who knows - I might have to wait until December - all
I know right now is that I've got to go back before the end of the year...
So I might just take you up on the
deal. You never know!

Karin, Indeed I will be there from 1st until 21st of October. So I am afraid that we will not be able to meet.
Carla, I am very very sorry not to be able to bring you the so wanted stroopwafels en even more sorry not to be able to taste your homecooking because you won't be in Tobago when I'm there....
Steph, although you are German, how about your homecooking??? Not the sauerkraut mit Wurst that is....! Surprise me - and my husband (to be on Tobago) of course...

Hi Arianne,
<~~~~~ Kate here (Karin?)
How a topic about the big Dutch invasion turned into one about food obsession, I don't know. Anyway it's been fun. And it wasn't my intention to hijack Carla's proposal!
At least you will get to meet Steph, the lucky woman who-lives-at-the-best-spot-in-Castara. Enjoy!
Carla!
Where are you, girl?!

I'm here, my friends! No need to panic !!!!!! *jokingly*

still trying to figure out how to make the stroopwaffel-pilau-lime come to fruition, though...
oh, well.... there's always
next vacation....
But, you guys.... we're going to have to actually
plan that lime, eh?
