Hi Andy, hi Lisa,

well, really nice, Andy, but that doesn't help. I'm doing that twice a day to get into the feeling of going on holidays

Am I the only one who booked a fligth with Monarch? Not that I could change the flight now but it would be nice to have a clou how it works.

Lisa, will I meet you in March? Where are you to find?

Hi Gisela

I'm in Carnbee. If you manage to meet Mr Watkins, he knows where to find me! Also if you're anywhere near the dive centre at The Hilton (as was) or at Arnos Vale, there's a chance you'll meet me there!!

My sister is here at the moment, and she flew over on Monarch. She said it was ok.... better than Excel, not as good as Virgin. She upgraded to premium as it's a long flight. That was something she did specifically mention! The flight stops in Grenada, so it's over 11 hours. That IS a long time to be on a flight!!

L.

Hi Lisa,

thanks for the information. I booked Premium Economy already and if it is better than Excel I'm fine with it. The flight from Germany is about 10 hours and much more expensive.
I guess Mr. Watkins will have left Tobago when I arrive but I will try to find you.

Hi Gisela!

I have greetings to you from my mum (Susanne Thomsen)!

They had a terrific flight to Tobago with Monarch Airlines and they are right now enjoying TOBAGO again ;)

I guess she will explain better when she will be back in Denmark - in 2 weeks of time :D I just got the text message about this thread!

Hi Dennis,

thanks a lot for the information and even if the flight will be horrible I can not change it now because I booked already. Well everything is worth it if it will bring you to TOBAGO :D
Your mum survived the flight so I will do also. Say hello if you send a message.

Hi Giesell.

I am back.

The flight was exactly as my son Dennis said. I cant se no difference between this and BA.
The only thing i can mentoion is that we had to pay for what we was drinking, and they came not so offen with it. But you can go back in the plane and get what you want.

So all together it was ok. We had just the normal economic tickets, and feel this was ok. (we have to pay for 5)

When are you going??? I would like to send you a private message, iff you want me to do, my e. mail is
[email protected]

have they updated the seat pitch (Leg room) as Monarch used to only previously offer 29 inches, compared to BA and Virgin's 31 inches. Important if you're 5'10 or so, essential if you're taller than that on such a long flight!!

Also what was the Monarch in flight entertainment offering? Do they have seat back TVs?

Hi Ben

If you check our listings (menu: Tobago > Air Services) you will see that the seat pitch is now the same as Virgin and BA at 31 inches in standard economy. :)

Ta, handy to know, everything I found stated that it was 29, Im sure they couldn't compete with that these days though, as First choice etc offer miles more.

May consider Monarch/ Cosmos (for a non Tobago holiday) later in the year now. I wouldn't fly with only 29 inches

Hi Ben

I could be a mistake to assume that 31-inches applies across all Monarch flights. As with Excel, they may have only one aircraft doing the long-haul flights and with the increased seat pitch. Many of the charter flights to short-haul European destinations will probably/possibly have just 29 inches. I can only tell you for certainty that the minimum pitch on the regular Tobago service by Monarch is 31 inches and have no knowledge of other flights.

It depends if you have a window seat or not.

Because I have the intellect of a 10 year old I always ask for a window seat so that I can look out the window ... but you need to be the size of a 10 year old to sit there on the Monarch flights.

The seats are moulded into the bulk head so you have little headroom, let alone leg room.

I learned my lesson ... but you should be quite comfortable in middle seats or aisle seats that I duly selected for my return flight.
