Hi Paul & Hugh hope i haven't created a wrong impression about myself and Carib!!! How things change it is looking like a great day at the moment with plenty sun and a lovely breeze in the Arnos Vale area. I think Hugh is correct there seem to be rain clouds around so probably a good chance of being refreshed and cooled through the day, what hardship

I love my Caribs too! And they are not available in California so I make the most of my time here. I do take home as much 1919 as allowed.

Hugh how right you were, 11am Thursday and torrential rain for the rest of the morning and into the afternoon. Late afternoon and evening were lovely.
Friday has begun very warm with beautiful sunshine, hope it lasts, think it might!!

Friday was wonderful spent the whole either by the pool or on the beach, spoilt for choice. Today has started hot and sunny, long may it continue.

I would love to dash over for a a quick conflap chaps (Plan B) but I am saving up for a 3 week Tobago-fest for the 1st quarter of 2011 (Plan A).

I am staying away from buses so I reckon Plan A should be fine

I am posting this message from apprx. 8000 km and am curious whether you could predict the weather for the first two weeks of August. I went through some of topics and posts on this site - thanks a lot for the information
We have planned to spend our honeymoon in Tobago (still this year) but we are not sure if we should just go there now and enjoy or maybe postpone it until mid October.

You can never predict the weather at any time of year for Tobago by much more than a few days.

A typical day is sunshine and a few showers and the balances can go in either direction from time to time ... but it is rare to have days of prolonged rain.

NEW DEVELOPMENT UPDATE

Here we go ...

Reference the Liquid Sunshine Weekly update and my previous post about this ...

We have a pretty certain Storm developing in the Mid-Atlantic but there is considerable uncertainty about the track of this system.

As always, if it keeps a more westerly track it threatens the Caribbean (even to the south) and could become a strong and dangerous hurricane providing it gets enough spin at such a low latitude.

If it goes more to the north it could miss the Caribbean altogether and pale into insignificance.

This needs watching and hopefully the Caribbean can get some relief from developments over the next few days.

TROPICAL DEPRESSION NO. 4


The new development has developed very quickly into a Tropical Depression which is good news as it's spin should pull it away to the north and lower the risks to the Caribbean.

Also, the future track is looking a little unfriendly for this system.

STRONG TROPICAL WAVE ON THE WAY

There is a strong Tropical Wave about 600 miles east of Tobago and this will bring heavy rain and squalls withing the next 48 hours.

The NHC are monitoring the Wave and give it a low chance of developing a Tropical Storm ... this needs watching.

Hurricanes and i am very happy about the development of the season so far.
I don't really care whether or not the weather gurus find an explanation

TS DANIELLE

Of no threat to Tobago, Danielle has formed in the Mid-Atlantic and is expected to be the first in a series of storms to develop over the next 2 weeks.

There is uncertainty of the future track as always but it looks unlikely that the Caribbean will be affected ... Bermuda will need to keep an eye on this.

TS DANIELLE - UPDATE

Danielle is close to Hurricane status as she moves closer to the Caribbean. The storm will swing more to the north and miss the Caribbean. Expect high sea swells by about the weekend.

Meanwhile ... another development is forming just south of the Cape Verde Islands ... this is expected to follow a similar track to Danielle but it is too early to predict this.
