Gill & Noe
I can envision it already; a new thread entitled "Tobago Smackdown" featuring our very own "Ladies of Letters" one-upping each other in their lyrical praise of a tropical paradise.
Leave "himself" at home and let me come with to document this event with the appropriate photos.

Hi Carol
Many thanks for your kind invitation which I would be happy to accept. Whether I can live up to your high standards remains to be seen but I'll give it my best shot.
Kind regards Sandra

Gill and Bill, or Bill and Gill
My mind has been boggling all morning . What a trio!
Gill, I'm sure we'd get on fine! I noticed that you once mentioned being five foot one (checking back on people's posts, whatever next?

) Well I'm afraid I would tower over you at five foot three (on a good day; five two on a bad day).
We'd also need a chef. Do you know of any by chance? And don't forget my surrogate big brother Tony, to help us with the chillin' and limin'.
Uh -oh- then we'd be out -numbered by the men! Well, we have Steph already in situ of course; maybe she could take time off and help us!
So you're off soon then Gill? Am I right in thinking you are travelling alone? I do admire you. Prize wuss that I am, I've never holidayed on my own; not even in the UK. Still, it's never too late...
Young Bill,
I've started on the photos. They are in a very rough alphabetical order, but it's driving me crazy. Bird lover I might be, but 27 pictures of bananaquits...????
I'm giving the photos rough abbreviations to help me identify them. My favourite so far has to be "butt on beach". (Erfly)

Hi Noe, (et al!)
If I'm not mistaken, Mr Watkins is a chef, or at the very least a cook of good standing!! I'm sure he could be persuaded to join your party of intrepid explorers!!
Lisa.

This is really taking off!
Steph, how would you translate "smackdown" into German? I don't even know what it means in English!
Is it something to do with basketball Bill?

Noe,three men to two women and WE are outnumbered??????Ithink you literary ladies generally reckon it needs at least one male to three females just to get on par
Your 'umble servant(tug, tug, knuckle, knuckle.bow and scrape etc)
And what's this cook bit, there's no need to insult a chap you know?

Noe and All,
Smackdown
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Smackdown
I agree with David that even with a three to one advantage we males would still be on the short end of the stick. Hey Tony, are you out there somewhere and ready to come to our assistance? And to be honest I don't think Tobago would survive all of us being there at one time
I hope we haven't already scared Sandra away

OK so I said I'd "shut up shop" for the evening, but I looked up this "smackdown" thing.
WRESTLING!!!!
Bill, do you seriously think Gill and I would indulge in
wrestling? Two sedate literary ladies like us? And with my bad back?
How can you associate great literature with wrestling?

(you Americans, huh!

)
We all know it's carefully choreographed anyway...( the wrestling, not the literature)
'Night all,

A- one, A-two...yes my dad used to watch it!
PS. I do so enjoy this forum sometimes.

Noe,
You evidently didn't read all the way down to this part of the wiki article:
Induction into Merriam-Webster
On July 10, 2007,[13] Merriam-Webster announced it would induct the word smackdown[14] into Webster's Dictionary. According to Merriam Webster, a smackdown is:
the act of knocking down or bringing down an opponent
a contest in entertainment wrestling
a decisive defeat
a confrontation between rivals or competitors
Although I can picture a big tub of mud on the beach at Castara and ............

Bill - Behave yourself !!!!!.
OK, I will make up the numbers

I don't have a literary bone in my body, but I do like to read Martina Cole's books - in fact I've just purchased her new book on Audio book for my ipod - how lazy is that ! So I'll sit on the beach listening to a novel not even turning a page.
I can sample David's cooking before you eat it - just to make sure it's ok and check the Rum Punch. WOW this gets more exciting!!!!

Aw C'mon Jill,
Let me have a little bit of fun.

I'm sitting here looking out the window at the rain, the forecast is for snow this weekend and I think the "Black Dog" is lurking around the corner.

If your not careful I'll see if I can get Peter to join in on our side (and you've seen his pictures).

Well Noe,
What to do first? Hit the gym big time in anticipation of looking peachy in lycra

or mug up on the best remedies for the drug induced state that 'smackdown' flashed into my mind

.
This group activity thing is sounding quite appealing and we would work up an appetite for David's offering

It is true that mud does wonders for the skin.I tried mud bathing with friends in Turkey

.Of course your body does smell like rotting eggs from the sulphur but it's so smooth
Boys

Such flights of fancy

Yes Noe, I travel alone but will be meeting up with friends when I get there.Never really fancied the group 'saga / singles' senario but can't just stay home.Took a bit of courage but so far so good!
Night John Boy

Btw everybody towers over me so that will be fine

Sorry to disappoint you but I'm really not the competitive sort. Can't get along with the idea that if someone wins then someone has to lose. And it all sounds a bit too energetic to me. I'd rather just have a 'lie-down' if that's OK with you guys. I'm pretty good at that.
