I have just read back through this whole thread (for the first time in AGES), with tears in my eyes. I am once again bowled over by the generosity of 'strangers' - the lovely messages, the positive power of the internet, the incredible kindness shown to us by Steve and Jill Wooler, the strength and determination of my husband (who would have believed that he would survive 19 months and more? - he has most recently developed shingles and is really suffering with that - so badly needs this holiday to rebuild his strength for the nest fight) and, well, everything. I am very apprehesive about this trip for lots of reasons, but thanks to Steve, Patrick, Golden Caribbean, Hummingbird Helicopters, Alibaba et al, I know that we will be looked after.

Juliette (my sister - see above!) will post updates on the forum while we're away, and I promise to keep a diary of my trip - it's the least I can do as a journalist! And I will again be submitting my story, as requested to various people, with a big thumbs up to myTobago :D

Thanks for reading!

Rachel

:) I'm a very happy big sister! I have just had a text message from Rach saying she and Andy ( I might sometimes call him our family nickname for him-Taffy) HAVE ARRIVED SAFELY! Apparently First Class was exactly as the name suggests! Rach received flowers on their arrival and they were rushed through immigration (which can be quite a wait, i seem to remember) and passports as true VIPs!
Will keep you all updated whenever i have the latest news!

Hi Folks

I've now started a new thread - Holiday of a Lifetime - Andy Harries - The Holiday as this thread is getting too long. To prevent comments and updates getting spread across the two threads, I am therefore closing this thread. All new additions can please go on the new thread.
