Hi David. Just as a matter of interest, do you (or anyone else reading) know how cold in degrees Celsius (or Fahrenheit if necessary)? The 10 degree C isotherm is just lapping around the coast at Bude!http://www.wetterzentrale.de/pics/brack5.html. Now that's cold!

Wednesday was fine with afew light showers.Today is fairly indifferent with showers and sun shine.
The sea temperature is about 22 Centigrade as to a normal 26/27 at this time of year.

PS Thanks for the info on Bude,I return in two weeks

Now Jonathan,
Are you telling us that you actually went to the trouble of researching the sea temperature at Bude just to "wind up" David?
You must now, I'm afraid, accept and acknowledge your addiction to this forum and formally become one of The Brethren.

David,
I can't believe that you are thinking about your return already! Where did the time go?
That's one reason why I'm glad we went in August; less of a shock to the system when we got home, even though we didn't have a Summer last year!
I suppose in your job you have to take your hols in our Winter, like I'm restricted to the school holidays.
Love
Carolnoe

Hi Noe,glad to see you back.
Yesterday eventually turned out quite pleasant.Today dawned fine and we had a ten minute shower at about 1030am.It is now clearing up nicely. The sea is clearing again after the rain and it is markedly warmer.

Friday, C-Ville, Last Monday was a washout here too. During some periods it rained harder than any time this year. I was inside one building and it rained so hard you could not the person next to you talk. Tues., Wed. and Thur. were mostly overcast with some sun but dry. Today was a fantastic day sun all day and dry with pretty calm seas. Phil

Well, not exactly. Any upwinding was collateral damage: in general I do not wind up venerable posters on their own patch :) :D

However, most of my sea bathing has been done off the coast of Cornwall, where 10 deg C is about normal for February, so I wondered just how cold "cold" could be in David's report. The answer appears to be "quite warm". 22 deg C! I've had colder tea than that!!

don't underestimate your "anorakism"!
simply apprentice anorak would do (and yet another word I had to check in the dictionary... is the education ever ending around here? )
still a long way to go to reach the level of our "chief anorak"...

Great to hear the weather is good and hope that your last 10 days or so stay that way.
We will be there this time next year so hope it repeats then.

Have you met the almighty one yet ?

Hi David

My commiserations on your having to leave paradise. Hope that all your future plans come to fruition. I've found it quite difficult to settle back into my UK existence after our visit but spring is coming, the sun is shining and they are keeping me busy at work. Life goes on.

Tony
