Thanks Paul for your prompt response! Gosh I am so excited about going and am glad it shouldn't be a constant down pour!

bttt

I have brought all the last 5 years of hurricane reporting back to the top (bttt) of the Weather Forum ... just to get them all in some sort of order and to keep them at the top of the forum and easily accessed by those who 'flick about'.

One day I will get a chance to read through them all again

The heavy rain predicted in last Saturday's weekly Liquid Sunshine update seems to be continuing.

I have seen some reports of severe flooding from Trinidad and Grenada but nothing from Tobago.

Can anyone provide us with any information about how the rains have affected Tobago?

as far as we can see in castara they were very wet (and for us "locals" it was quite chilly).
snorkelling conditions are less than perfect but that was about it. few small landslides on the roads, but did not hear of anything major...
still a bit grey but with some sun in between (this morning was gorgeous though!

Hi any one that can help.

I am seeing reports of severe flooding in Trinidad ... the sat loops have been down for the last week and I only have very restricted access to what is going on.

There is definitely some wet stuff coming in from the east but I am not sure if it is only affecting Trinidad.

Can I have some feedback from Tobago ... please?

Thanks

Hiya Paul,

All ok here, although it rained a LOT last night!! Aside from that, nothing out of the ordinary. I'm seeing reports of high tides for next week though. Not high like at Easter (which were, apparently, the worst that anyone could remember, ever!), but still pretty rough! Even http://www.wetsand.com are showing higher than usual levels. Particularly the Atlantic side is expected to be rough, but even the Caribbean will be affected. We've been warned to move boats to the lagoon...

Still hot though, and zero chance of snow on Christmas day.

Have a great xmas!

Lisa.

Thanks Lisa

Yes the trades are quite high which is probably part of the reason why the swells are kicking up.

But there is rain around, I just can't see it very well until the satloops come back.

Welcome back David ...

Thanks for the feedback ... it's looking Ok now but the rain is still not far away to the south and east.

I am still struggling with the satellite images.

HAPPY ...

It could be mild, cold, wet, sunny, windy, snowy, icey, warm, hot, cold, diabolical ... but where ever you are ... please accept this as my best Christmas Wishes and a good New Year ... and thank you for all your feedback.

... Whatever the weather ... never mind the credit crunch ... have a day off and chill.

Regards

Good to see David back. Does this mean he is now in Castara? How bad and where were the slides?
I should be in Charlotteville next Monday. Paul and David look me up if you get up that way.
Merry Christmas all in 5 minutes. Phil

Hi Phil

I think David is staying somewhere else and visiting Castara.

I won't be there for for another 2 weeks ... I am sure the landslides will be cleared quite quickly.

The weather is beautiful here in Castara ... not a drop of rain today ... bit cloudy in western areas ... clear blues skies over here.

Calming seas ... groups of sting ray sweeping majestically across the bay.

Should I do a spin-off waffle about each day or would Carole get jealous?

Dear Paul (or should I call you Pete?),

lucky you to be in Castara again. I would appreciate any news from Tobago, especially Castara and though I'm surely jealous I would love to hear more news.
Say HELLO to Coddrigton, Anaconda and to Jackson(Gaston), if you see them.

Have a nice time an a nice lime.
Cheers
Gisela

Hi Gisela

Jackson only gets one day off a week but I will send your regards if I see him and the others.

The sandflies know I am here ... I spent the first night lubing my legs up with repellents etc ... I got bitten twice on the arm ... little devils.

This morning is beautiful and calm ... just fed the birds so I think they are now ready for their first photo session !!

Catch you later.

Regards

Dear Pete
Waffle away, as it's b. freezing, the Christmas bills arriving and the nation in dire straits we need all the help we can get to raise a smile. May be a greenish smile but worry not you will be much appreciated.

Ok ... I am keeping a blow by blow diary of the adventures of Subversive Pete ... a rough cut for posting reviews when I get back ... I could post it daily and the adventures would unfold while you knit yourselves to the seats.

Days 1 and 2 are ready ... let me know :P

Today is beautiful ... although the King Fish has started putting feed out and nicked half my birds ... I will go have a word :?
