Thank you for updating the weather.

I hope you can see some sunshine for the next coming 4 weeks. We will be in Castara for 3 weeks from the. 28.of october. So i hope there will be a lot of sun and wery calm water to snorckeling around.

You will be in Tobago during the last month of the wet season but that does not mean it will be wet because the weather can be similar all year round.

Typically you can expect about 24 - 36 hours of rainfall each week with much of it falling at night.

It is always good in Castara ... my only complaint is the light pollution from the fishermen's place ... do me and you a favour and take a drive after dark on a moonlit night to the road outside the entrance to Englishman's Bay ... stop there on the roadside, get out of your car, turn the engine off and turn your lights out and look around and listen (ignore any cows) ... ... ... then look up to the sky ... then look around again ...

... priceless ...

Please report back and tell me it's still there ... and if you don't know what I mean then you will when you get there.

It always rains when i have to install antennas.
For instance tomorrow it will rain in Scarborough between 9am and 5pm

This doesn't have anything to do with Tobago.
It is just Murphy's law of rainfall during antenna installation work.
It follows me everywhere i go to do this kind of job since more than 20 years

We almost got away though yesterday. Only one brief heavy shower by 10 am hit the man on
the bucket truck while ascending to the roof top.
As we were able to finish the job late last evening, there was beautiful sunshine for the whole day today.

Oh damn and blast ... that's what I would say

Hi Paul,
It's been a little soggy around this end of the island (Studley Park area) the last couple of days. Monday started off sunny and then went to cloud over and showers and then a bit of sun and then started the cycle again. Did that most of the day; from Crown Point to Goodwood. Last night the rain just would not quit nor did it slow down much this morning to early afternoon. Sun out at the moment; maybe a reprieve.

Alright, are you back in Tobago installing antennas and bringing all this rain??? Could you give it a rest for a few days; having trouble doing my gardening....sliding down the hillside was not part of the plan.

I don't see rain when I look at the satellite loops, so it looks like the lower level air streams must be carrying alot of moisture which forms clouds and produces rain as it is lifted over land.

Tobago is quite mountainous so this is why you could be experiencing this ... I worked out some time ago that locally produced rain rarely shows up on the Satellite which is a bit frustrating.

Lets hope it eases off a bit.

i was in Tobago right through until yesterday morning.
Antenna work was on Tuesday last week (morning shower) and there was supposed to be some on Monday morning (heavy downpour), which had to be postponed.
Sorry about the obvious influence on your gardening

I am back in Trinidad now, so please no more complaints
We had some heavy squalls here this morning and around lunch time, right now it looks more like a real rainy season.
Some yachts in the bay of Chaguaramas even went adrift with their anchors.

I can see the rain now.

This is all ITCZ related and just goes to show how unpredictable the weather can be at this time of year and when the ITCZ is nearby.

But as sson as it blows up it can as quickly disappear.

For now there is very heavy rain affecting both Trinidad and Tobago ... turning into a soggy week.

I'm Glad I found this site and have been monitoring your updates to the current weather,
We are due to arrive in Tobago for two weeks on 5th November and looks like there could be a fair amount of that Liquid Sunshine.
Having said that we were in Barbados two years ago about the same time of year and had showers and then about 24 hours of solid downpour with high winds.

One good thing is that at least over there the rain is warm not like the cold stuff we get back at home on the other side of the pond

The sea is warmer than the rain ... so it nice to have that tingling feeling on your back as you swim in the sea during a downpour.

... or maybe on your front ... just in case you are a backstroker

Just got back having been out 5th Nov through 19th, having seen all the weather forecasts was expecting a fair amount of liquid sun, well second day went for a walk to Pigeon point and met it in the middle of nowhere 20 mins under a coconut palm tree watching for the odd coconut bomb to drop then all dry 10 mins later couldnt tell it had rained. In all we had 3 small showers during the daytime after that and each time I was in the sea laughing as everyone else appeared to run for cover whats the point I was wet and a 10-20min shower wasnt going to get me any wetter. apparently we had several heavy showers in the middle of the night which I slept though. We did have some great entertainment one night watchting a great thunderstorm that was way out over Trinidad and the sea sheet fork lightening and the odd rumble.
So anyone who may be worried about all tyhe weather reports showing thunder showers as they did for us, dont worry the above was all we saw and I came home as brown as the locals

Did consider not sending this. I feel like the bearer of bad news again but you did ask for feedback...Actually I loved your 22 Nov weather report for the week...promises, promises. Sigh...it started raining again around 6:00 this morning (not the light kind nor the hanging out at the beach kind) went on until two'ish. Periods of calm, bright sunshine for an hour or so. Sucked us in to thinking it was clearing; went off. Wrong, ringing out clothes and bags from that trip. Before you start beating your head on the keyboard we do check NOAA's website most days and since last Friday their satellite has seem to have no bearing on what is going on here...looking clear but lots of liquid sunshine and woken up by heavy late nights or was that early morning showers? Sat it got pitch black at noon and dumped for a hour. It looked pretty clear online...fast moving weather patterns? Seems to be more like I remember as typical Nov weather in Tobago. So far have not heard of mudslides and flooding (thanks heavens). Better than what I'm reading online about the situation UK..can't imagine what it would be like to deal with the terror of flooding and the aftermath..thoughts of those in the flood areas.

There has been many a time when I have enjoyed a downpour in Tobago, looked at the satloops and there is nothing there !!

The satloops only seem to show high level moisture and not trade showers that develop from low level moisture that rises over the land and cools and drops lots of rain.

Well folks, on Tuesday it was raining in Trinidad right through, all of my 36 km way from home (Trincity) to the office(Chaguaramas). My wife who was working from home that day reported rain all through the day in Trincity, whereas it cleared up in Chaguaramas from midday. Blessed with that amount of water on Tuesday, i did not have to water my plants in the garden since
THAT kind of weather was definately visible on the satellite as the only red dot in the entire eastern Caribbean Sea.
