We Just got back from a week in Castara. We could have easily spent another week lazing on The beach And snorkelling. The Naturalist was The Perfect Place for me And Two active Sons. Our room was kingfish, on ground level with The beach in front of us!! The only problem was the dogs who roamed outside And slept in our sunbeds.
Ancel was very welcoming And breakfast was a bonus as was The Wi-fi, use of computers And 24hr filter coffee, water And Ice.
Our room was cleaned daily, beds made, clean towels, even our laundry done And hung on The line for us.
The shower was not very Powerful, but there was an outside one which was great for rinsing off sand, And sometimes The water was warm from The Sun!!
The best resterant, The Almond Tree, was next To us with views of The bay.

All in all We were very lucky with our accommodation And being in Castara, by far The best village for a range of activities including fantastic snorkelling especially out To The far side of little bay, brilliant beach for bathing And Sand castles, Beautiful Sunsets, fishing boats, a decent range of bars And resterants, local food shops, ATM, a bus stop, a beautiful waterfall, And a real sense of communite. All this whilst avoiding The steep slopes of Castara!!
If We come again We will not leave Castara - Maybe once for The rainforest!!

I agree the dogs are an absolute pain ... they carry fleas and love using your sunbed for the nightfor sleeping and grooming themselves ... yuck!!

Solution ... turn your sunbeds on their sides overnight ... or ... remove the nice soft cushions overnight.

Hope this helps
