Staying at Johnstons Apartments in Store Bay, we were fortunate to have a BBQ provided. There is nothing like the taste of a freshly caught red snapper grilled over charcoal. The fishermen near Pigeon Point were selling red snapper at £1 a lb about 10.30-11 in the morning and you then pay the "Doctor" to clean, fillet and if large, as ours were, cut into portions. Remember to take a plastic bag with you! He charged us 10TT for filleting two large two pounders. I asked him why he was called the doctor, and his beaming reply was "I take out bones!" At Mount Irvine they had shark each time we stopped by. I saw a grouper caught at Pigeon Point but I understand that there is a protection on these.
