Hi Xantina
I guess (hope) that you have been reading and get informed about going around In Tobago with starting point in Castara? Without a car you will ahve to stay around Castara if you do not hire a car (left-hand drive here!) or jappens to have a good trusted driver with a car.
There ars buses, but they often do not go on time, sometimes t hey aren´t going at all because ofmechanical problems and/or lack of drivers.
There are more buses passing Bucco and also more chared taxis (H on the sign is the real ones) but the majority of these cars, real H-taxis or private taxis, they go to-from Scarborough. So it´s a kind of similar situatuon as in Castara area. I´d say chared H-taxis, as there are two taxis here. "Real" taxis from A to B as at home, and the shared on, but one does not see the different when looking at the car or the sign, but the price for a trip is for sure VERY different betwen them.
If you want to see other beaches when you are in bucco, it IS possible to walk if you doesn´t have problems with the heat from the sun. Renting a bike is NOT a good choise, as the roads are quite narrow and they drive fast and near the bikes, and the roads itself is often a problem.
The distance from Bucco to Black Rock as an example, isn´t that big, at the beach there is very long and wide. You can walk across from Bucco to Crown Point too by using a smaller road via the forrest, but that´s is´t a good choise for a first timer.
Myself is here during the winter, I´m leaving Tobago April 19, going back to Sweden via England, and I don´t mind to give you some advice when you are here. You can write me using my e-mail address:
