We were utterly happy and comfortable staying in the Hummingbird apartment and hanging around friendly, laid-back Castara. The little porch is simply blissful, with lots of birds to watch. Very comfy, supportive bed. We were well taken care of by the folks who look after the place.
We only had a few days to spend and did not plan to cook. (A great choice for us. The local food was lovely.) The kitchen might not support ambitious cooks, but was more than sufficient for our needs.
The hill is steep, but that's how nature put the island together. It's one steep hill after another. I was always happy to make my way up, knowing the hammock was waiting for me when I arrived.
A great spot in an ideal location.
