Live acoustic music

My wife and I recently arrived in Tobago and I am looking for a friendly bar with a mix of expats and tourists in which to sing and play my guitar (mainly 60s and 70s stuff but also some reggae etc.). I had a regular gig in Grand Turk (Turks & Caicos Islands) for a year with great success. Any ideas for a suitable place?

Hi Chris

Welcome aboard! :)

A lot depends upon where on Tobago you are staying. One place that immediately springs to mind, though, is Bago's Bar in Pigeon Point Road.

Thanks, Steve. We are currently in a condo in the Plantation and looking for a house not too far from the hospital (my wife is a doctor). We were at Bago's last night early on and I wondered if it might be the kind of place I could play. I'm a journalist and TEFL teacher as well as a musician and looking for work in all of those fields.

Hi Chris

My best advice would be to check out likely places, like Bago's and perhaps Colours (at Pigeon Point Road junction) and if you like the feel of the place, have a word with the owner/manager. Good luck!
