myTobago – your questions, review and comment about Tobago

Hello

A few of you might know me from a few other messages that I've posted, but in a nutshell, I am going to Tobago departing this week for 5 weeks and I have yet to find accommodations for my complete duration. I have serval leads as I am on a strict budget that I will explore further when I arrive.

As far as where to stay the first few nights, I have to yet to know that as well. lol I've been told that there are many low cost accommodations close by the airport and my question to you all is;
Do you have any recommendations on where to stay for as little as possible as soon as I step out of the airport?


I'm not picky. I just need a room with a bed that is secure.

hi i got given a card by a german guy who has a flat for rental via the bakery on the road to bucco past the petrol station he charges 12 euro a night, cheaper for longer stays? might this be of interest nice apartment just not the greatest of locations but hey if you are going to be out and about?

Did you draw a blank with the 250 accommodation providers listed on this site? You must be real fussy if none of the cheaper properties appealed to you.

Bit late now to research (having set aside earlier advice which I and others gave you for some reason), since you travel imminently, so my advice is for you to do what backpackers have been doing for ever, including long before the internet was invented - pop into the tourist office opposite arrivals at the aiport. The staff there have full lists of approved properties including many cheap B&Bs - plus there will be no shortage of beds when you visit since the major activity (cricket) will be taking place in Trinidad. You may read about posh hotels being over-booked, but this shortage of luxury beds seldom impacts at the budget end so the tourism officials will while away hours with you happily calling around!

That's what they are paid for.
