we will be in castara over the easter peiod. Just wondered what days if any shops/restaurants etc close? Would we be wise to stock up. SDo we need to book restaurants over the holiday period? We were going to hire a car for a few days would this be a good time to do it
thanks

hello helen!
think it would be a good time to have the car over easter anyway, so you cen reach the events like crabrace or goatrace etc. better.
the restaurants make their decisions how to open spontaniously sometimes...
by the way, where are you staying in castara, maybe you have an ok kitchen...for emergencies?!
i never heared about someone making bookings for restaurants except for the boathouse in castara to make sure they open for dinner...
maybe we meet, as we are located in castara...good choice!
have a save trip

Brian- we also are in Castara over Easter, actually arrive about 10-10:30pm Good Friday-so glad to get information about this. Another question or 2, if you would. We are staying at Beach House so have a kitchen. Im concerned about getting supplies for breakfasts/possible lunches and a bottle of rum! & cokes thru Tuesday- in case things are closed. Arriving so late, we will have to wait til Saturday to get supplies. Should we be able to in Castara or will we need to drive back down island? Have also looked at your site and are really thinking about one of your boat trips! We will no doubt see you there. Please offer whatever advise you would give. We are rental a jeep. thank you!
