Hi Steve

You are past the peak of the high season so availability is not a problem if you leave it until you are "on island". However, be sure to do your research here and establish the telephone numbers of likely firms. The hotel "tours desk" will only use their own "approved" tour company which is likely to be more expensive than others becuase of the commission the hotel will take.

Have a great trip and let us know how you get on. All the best for your wedding.

We came back last Friday and didn't do a trip with any tour operators - although we did get a leaflet from Yes Tourism (out of the Coco Reef gates, turn left, follow up to the Golden Star/Pigeon Point turnoff where you turn left and it's in a small building on your right hand side. I think the man who runs it is a contributor on this site - they do discount for 6 or more people - although if you're on your honeymoon, I expect you'll want to be alone! We hired a car for 4 of us from a firm next to the House of Pancakes - they only had a 7 seater Suzuki the morning we went for one and charged £30 a day, so we kept it for two days and took ourselves out aided by the Tobago Rough Guide and had a great time, stopping when we liked and enjoying the numerous bays. The roads are interesting, very winding and narrow on the west side - we did take a couple of wrong turns which gave us some fantastic views but very little in the way of roads to follow! All part of the fun! We set off with a quarter of a tank of fuel and there aren't many petrol stations so we were keeping our fingers crossed we'd be able to cross the island and get to Roxborough to fill up - Got a full tank for £10.

Hope you have a great time and good luck with the wedding
Deb

Thanks Deb & Steve for your replies, I will be going armed with all the information gleaned from the site, so hopefully shouldn't have many problems deciding who to go with, thankyou both for your kind wishes for our wedding, will post a report when we get back,

Island Hopping

I am hoping to spend 2 weeks in Tobago and 1 week doing some island hopping to Grenada and maybe some other small islands. I have looked at the Caribjet site and saw that LIAT do a 3 destination package for 245. Has anyone used this package and if so does it represent value for money? Would it be better just to turn up at the airport and pick a flight.
Any help would be appreciated.
Thanks
Ion
