Hi everyone, just wondering if anyone knows good places to see caimans other than Hillsborough dam? P.s we will be staying in the Black Rock area in April, we have a car so we can travel around. Thanks in advance.

Hi,
You can see caymans in the lakes on the grounds of Tobago Plantations. The best time to go is around 5pm.

Hello Yavash
Welcome aboard!
Rob has beaten me to it! He is quite right.
Other than there, the only place I've ever seen caimans on Tobago has either been in the Hillsborough Dam or at various points in the river that runs south from the dam to where it joins the Atlantic at Mount Saint George. In fact some of my best sightings have been at the junction of the Easterfield Road that runs down from the dam and the main Windward Road - just north of the main coast road and virtually where the river joins the sea.
As far as I am aware, you can't get into the Hillsborough Dam - at least, not officially. There are back-routes that will take you in there. My advice would be to contact a reputable guide who should/will know where there is the highest chance of seeing them. My first choice for this sort of thing would be Peter Cox.
