You really need to take the negative reviews of this place with a large pinch of salt! The Grafton Beach Resort is 3*, and that is what you should expect. It is basic (basic furniture in the bedrooms), but very clean, the rooms all have working aircon and a TV, and the staff are very friendly and helpful (including the rep who was present everyday, and the bar staff who were more than happy to invent you a cocktail!). The pool is lovely, the swim up bar a must, and the restaurant has amazing views over the bay. Food is a classically buffet style, but a decent selection of the basics, and always fresh fruit/salads and fresh fish. The beachside bar is lovely, and has a small menu if you fancy a change from the main restaurant. We even went all inclusive, and loved it!
(and can I just point out other people staying at the hotel included a vegetarian and someone who did not drink alcohol...and they had no complaints either!)
