myTobago – your questions, review and comment about Tobago

Does anyone have any good ideas about keeping your stuff safe whilst swimming in the sea. There have been lots of messages posted about not leaving your things on the beach.

This is our first trip to Tobago (arriving this weekend ). It will be just my husband & I, without the kids .

I've got one of those 'sealed pods' that can hold money, creditcards etc that you can swim with. But what do I do with my clothes, shoes, camera etc? What does everyone else do?

I suppose common sense is the most important thing to take with you to the beach. There is very little to spend your money on while on the beach, take the minimum you need and leave the rest locked up in your room safe.If you have to take money ,leave it locked in the car preferably hidden somewhere not too obvious.
Don't take a £1000 video camera with you,we use a small APS camera worth about £25. If we loose it , it's not the end of the world.
Your clothes are fairly safe unless you are planning to wrap your life savings in them!
If you both want to swim together .leave your possessions close to other holiday makers. Think twice about leaving them on seemingly quiet deserted beaches.
The truth is we felt no less safe than on any European holiday. Just remember to apply the same common sense you would use any day at home.

Thanks, it might seem really obvious, but this will be the first time my husband & I have been on a beach type holiday without family or friends. I appreciate your comments.
