I was keen to see these falls in January 2025. The walk up to the falls isn’t too difficult and you can find a good viewpoint for photos easily. However if you want to swim it is tricky to get to the ‘beach’ where access is best. You have to cross the outflow stream on wet rocks. As an older person I decided against it. Perhaps just as well since the youngsters described the water as exhilarating or refreshing. I suspect these were euphemisms for very cold!

We always 'skip' Argyle Falls as it is often too busy for our tastes, and I do not like to pay the park fees, but I do ackowledge that it is an excelling one if you have members of your party with mobility issues.

The waterfalls at Castara and Parlatuvier as much less busy (but rarely empty, if you want the safety of others), but do require a bit of scrambling over rocks, and uneven paths.

Our go-to waterfall on the island, particularly for swimming, is HIGHLAND FALLS, but it is substantial walk in, and often you are 100% alone in the space, which can be a bit rattling when anyone emergences from the 'grass' towards the falls, or climbs down the rope on the side of the falls. Never been an issue, just surprising, because you feel like there is not a soul left in the world when at this waterfalls.
