myTobago – your questions, review and comment about Tobago

Hi, we are arriving in Tobago in just over 3 weeks and will be spending 2 weeks there. This is our first visit. We are staying in Crown Point which I hope will enable us to visit bars, restaurants etc in the evenings within walking distance so we can both enjoy the local rum! However we would like to get out and about and explore the island during the day and I was wondering if there is anywhere local to hire mopeds or motorcycles. My husband is an experienced rider and I sit on the back and follow (about the only time I do )

Any recommendations? I can't wait to get there!

Welcome aboard!

I'm afraid that there are very few sources of motorcycle rental left on the island, and none for mopeds/scooters that I'm aware of. Sheppy's used to be the most reliable source for small motorcycles, but they've apparently packed up bikes in recent years, because users just gave them too much abuse, I believe. I believe there is one outlet in Canaan, which is very near Crown Point, but I had heard that there were maintenance issues with their machines. Perhaps someone else knows different?

Smart move Fiona ! Rent an open jeep almost the same experience as a bike but more metal around you !

Open Jeeps are hard to find. Tried booking a soft-top Jimny nearly a year in advance for March2018 from Sheppy. Hard Top only.

KCNN in Canaan did have them. The hoods do not last in this climate though. I have asked Bruce Taylor who we always use as he may know someone.

The word is”They are all 17years old now so may not be for hire now” unquote! Did you try KCNN ?
