I've looked at the online booking for Caribbean Star to go from Trinidad to Tobago (and back again) and it appears that they are offering only two non-stop flights a day each way in late March. Tobago Express has far more flights. I had originaly selected Caribbean Star because of its alliances with larger airlines, but neither of the filighs they offer are convenient. Is there any reason not to book with Tobago Express?

Dear Judith, there is no difference between Tobago Express and CaribbeanStar. They both use the same type of aircraft: Dash 8 Q 800. Tobago Express cannot be booked via IATA travel agents, but through the internet at http://www.tobagoexpress.com. They fly the T&T route at least 10 times per day (first flight from Trinidad around 6 am, last one around 9 pm). The only thing you have to bear in mind is that coming into Trinidad from abroad and then having onward flights to Tobago you are not able to check your luggage all the way through (except with BWIA), i.e. clear customs and immigration in Trinidad and then check in your luggage again for the Tobago flight. And the good news from January 1, 2003: Tobago Express and BWIA (BWee Express) reduced their airfare to TTD 200 (approx. USD 34) return, but you have to book at least 7 days in advance and cannot change your ticket (otherwise you still pay the normal TTD 300=USD50). If you have any more questions, let's chat again in the forum.

Regards

Thanks so much, Tanya. That is exactly the type of information I was looking for. Since we are coming from California, we need to overnight in Trinidad, so not being able to check our luggage through is not a problem.
