We're heading to Tobago next week. We'll be at the Speyside Inn, Footprints Eco Resort, and Toucan Inn before visiting Trinidad. This is our first trip to the Caribbean, and we can't wait! If anyone has any last minute advice we'd certainly welcome it. This website has been a huge help, and I hope to post many reviews when we return. Thanks!

Hi Sally
I guess the best tip that I can offer is to start winding down. If you're not used to the pace of life on Tobago, it can at first come as a bit of a shock. Time has little meaning in Tobago - there are at least 50 hours in every day, so don't expect the snappy, zippy life you are probably used to. "Manyana" may not appear in the Tobagonian dictionary but it is certainly the ethos of the island.

Take a boat trip at some stage while you are on the island. We went out with Richard, a life guard from Store Bay. Make sure you get to Pelican Island, and The Nylon Pool.
It was definately the highlight of our trip.
I echo Steve's sentiments entirely, just relax have a beer and enjoy yourself!!

I'm not sure what the Tobagonian equivalent word would be but I'm sure that it wouldn't convey quite the same sense of urgency as Manyana!

Hi Sally,
When your on the bit up at Speyside do the glass bottom boat trip across to Little Tobago and snorkling on Angel Reef. You can do them both on the same trip and its a great afternoon out.
Regards
Kevin

Hi Sally
If you are between 15 & 75 - go to Frankies Rum Punch Beach Party - it was definately one of the highlights of our holiday !!
Re Tobago Time - Time goes so slowly - Our week felt like a fortnight. Yet you would normally associate time going slowly with being bored and time passing quickly when you are having a good time - just the opposite in Tobago
