Breadfruit?

Post by Sweet_TnT »

Hi guys,

I miss breadfruit from the Caribbean! Do you know when it is in season in Tobago? I know mangoes are June/July right? But breadfruit?

Sorry for this random and yet so specific question!

If you can help thanks.

My Tobagonian expat expert says July and August are peak breadfruit season.

yep, abundant cropper in summer but most varieties will fruit throughout the year giving as many as 3 harvests.

given our penchant for importing most foodstuffs you'll get it year round as it's widely available throughout the region and it will be fruiting somewhere !

Breadfruit can be fussy. Even well within the tropics it won’t tolerate dry winds like we have in some parts of Costa Rica..
