Historical Itineraries

Post by Gabriele »

Tobago Heritage Conservation Society has been formed by a group of individuals interested in the conservation of archaeological and built heritage assets on the island and to promote cultural ecotourism for the benefit of citizens and visitors to the island of Tobago.
We have been working between the archives and the sites located through out the seven Parishes of Tobago recording the findings and searching their history. We hope our suggestions on Historical Itineraries will contribute to better explore Tobago!

Great work ... congratulations. =D>

It would be nice if your organization can preserve two Samaan trees on the island ...

1. The Swiss Family Robinson treehouse at Cow Farm Road in Goldsborough.
2. A memorial placed near to the Samaan tree at Tamarind Square, Scarborough, in tribute to the island’s enslaved Africans.

A “Memorial” in the form of a sign is posted on the side of the car parking area, nearby the Samaan tree at Tamarind Square in Scarborough.

Ruins of Rose Hill Kitchen at New Testament Church: from the Samaan tree at Tamarind Square, with a short walk North direction, it is possible to see the ruins and the old cistern in the front yard of the Church.

If you continue waling on the grass, around the left side of the building, is visible a second, larger old cistern.

That’s awesome that there is now signage at the Samaan tree. Enjoying your posts. Great work highlighting the built heritage of Tobago.
