returning to Trinidad from 1 Nov with three flights per week from Toronto, rising to 4 from Dec-March. It's still a late arival into Piarco so it will be overnight on Trinidad.

American Airlines (Miami) and Jet Blue (JFK) are increasing flights into Piarco from the continental US, doubling the airlift to two flights daily. Seems to be time limited though with the additional flights only available until septemberish - maybe more planning/negotiations taking place as one might imagine they'd be keen to have extra capacity for high season.

Caribbean Airlines has a non stop to Tobago from JFK on Thursdays. Leaves JFK ~07:00 AM arrives Tobago @ Noon'sh. The return leg leaves Tobago @12:30 AM, arrives JFK @ 05:00 AM. That's what I use. Thank god of for that flight. Beats transitioning @ Piarco.

We used the Thursday JFK to TAB nonstop RT on our last visit and it is so much better than any flights through Piarco (POS). Cuts our trip (from Seattle) in half! Might be hard to get reservations though.

Yes, It can be difficult, especially during the July / August school holidays and around Easter, Christmas, Carnival, unless you book way in advance.

and..the Air Canada flights are off again, secondary to industrial action and a shortage of staff according to the airline

It appears that Air Canada, WestJet and Sunwing are no longer booking flights all the way to Tobago. We will continue to use AirCaribbean, which we have had the best experience with.
