A Super winter retreat!

After being in transit more than 16 hours from Montreal to Barbardos to Trinidad to Tobago we arrived at Crown Point Airport in Tobago much the worse for wear and found dear Nigel, manager of Sherwood Park apartments patiently awaiting our late flight from Trinidad on Tobago Express air service.

We were totalling enjoying the ride to Sherwood Park until we turned off the main road to what can generously be called a narrow steep uphill lane. Then we made a hairpin curve onto a narrower dirt track which seemed to be in the darkest, deepest place. Then we turned into an even narrower lane which lead us to Sherwood Park Apartments. Need we say that we were feeling a bit uncertain.

The next morning we awoke to a gorgeous morning and we were delighted to find ourselves in this beautiful oasis which is called Sherwood Park.

We made our home here for 24 days; we felt at home with the people on the property and with the people on the island. Unlike most people who stayed at Sherwood Park, we did not rent a car. We hired taxis for tours (and met more people) and we enjoyed a lovely run to the beach which was provided by Sherwood Park at a nominal fee.

The property is beautifully built on a slope with the apartments on the top level. Down a few steps is a large pentagon shaped terrace with tables and chairs under thatch covered shelters. Down a few more steps is a gorgeous pool area with chairs and more thatched shelters.

Throughout the property is a beautiful garden which includes a wide variety of palms and flowering bushes.

SERENITY REIGNS!

Our thanks to Nigel Pirtheesingh for his most wonderful hospitality and to his staff Marvin, Andy, Carola and Louisa for a lovely family atmosphere. This is one of the best holidays we have ever had.
