8) Weve just returned from Coco Reef = a lovely experience, and a truly beautiful island. It seems nit picking a bit but just a warning to new visitors on all inclusive. The only times that our holiday was marred were at important times - a few minutes on arriving and a few minutes before departure. After dumping our cases after such a long journey we found the nearest bar - idyllic - the Bachanal - only to have our order queried as our name was not on the list -as I say a special time spoiled but soon rectified. However, after a lovely holiday, we all showered and settled the bill and I left the family suggesting that I would get the final few cocktails to sit in the terrace to say goodbye to our special place. As the family waited for my return I ordered the cocktails as I had done every day only to be told I could not have them.
I found this quite embarrassing, the cocktails were already poured, the bar was busy and the bar manager was asking for a credit card. After running back to the patio, I then dashed around looking for my husband who had gone to get the cases from the store room, and found some cash. By this time I was very red and hot and the taxi was due - leaving our final minutes not as I had hoped but with what I thought was a rather petty gesture. Apparrently once you have checked out you are not entitled to the all inclusive package. I had assumed it covered us until we left the site. A disappointing end to a lovely holiday - so dont let it put anybody off - but just be aware.

Just wondered what tour operator you travelled with, we noticed this at other AI hotels and in some cases it depended upon the tour operator you had booked with.

We travelled with BA and checkout time was 12.00 but our departure from the hotel was not due until 4.45 for a 7.00pm flight. Just assumed we could have lunch and drinks on site until we left.

Hi Sue

I could be wrong, but I thought that technical - and this applies to ALL hotels, not just the Coco Reef - your AI package will automatically ends at the stated check-out time of the hotel, or at the time of your check-out if earlier.

Hi everyone

We stayed at Le Grand Courlan back in Feb this year with BA and had to check out at the normal time, but our all inclusive package did not stop until we actually left for the flight in the evening.

We were allowed cocktails, drinks etc, i am sure this was not just BA as everyone on every flight seemed to be able to continue with the AI.

Best thing is check with the rep when you get to your hotel about the AI package or email the company before you get there.

As far as I am aware when you are AI at the Coco Reef, your AI ends at 3pm on the day of your departure...

Kirsten is correct. When on A.I. at Coco Reef the package ends at 3 p.m. on the day of departure.

:) Thanks everyone. The 3pm time fits in because we were not charged for lunch. It was just a note to avoid other visitors feeling a bit daft and searching around for cash just before leaving. It was a a very minor point as the resort was superb

The good ol Rex.

Drinks on arrival before check in so no problem there.

On day of departure all inclusive is extended to 1700 which would fit with most tours. They also let us have a room for the day so we could let our little one sleep and shower after a final dip.

:( First - Just returned from stay at Coco Reef and overall, enjoyed the stay. The employees were truly the most friendly and helpful people during my "official" stay. I emphasize "official" because I was somewhat disappointed on departure. I was not on AI, just BB, but was monitoring this website before I left for Tobago, and took note of this particular issue.

My flight back to DC was scheduled for 8:10 in the morning, so my family and I departed Coco Reef at 6:20 AM. I had settled my account the previous night, with only turning in my key as a final step. Upon arrival at the airport and checking in, we were informed that our flight was delayed for at least 2 hours. Instead of waiting at the airport, we decided to go back to Coco Reef to have a final breakfast, and enjoy the view. We arrived back at 7:40, 1 hour and 20 minutes after checking out. I was welcomed back with and smile, and then informed, quite politely, that since we had checked out, we would have to pay for the breakfast. I did ask whether we would have been eligible if I had not "checked out" and was told, "Yes". Hence my use of the term "official" stay. I did not want to make a scene for my family (already beginning to get stressed from the flight delay), so we stayed and had breakfast. I requested the check, and handed the hostess my credit card. She returned (to add a little more insult to injury) and informed me that they forgot to ADD the fee for a small bottle of water that my daughter had ordered (she had done so, the entire stay without charge or comment). To say the least, I departed with disappointment.

Again, the Coco Reef is a fine establishment and I would recommend it to anyone. I would hope tha the management would reconsider this policy, and have informed them by email of my disappointment.
