What are the restrictions on hiring motor bikes as both myself and my girlfriend are under the required age of 25 needed to rent cars. Do you need a motorbike license, a normal car license or can you drive without a license at all?
Thank You

How long have you had your license? I'm not so sure about the bikes, but my b/f rented cars in Tobago a few times, every time being under 25. He was told by the rental place that he was eligible because he'd had his drivers license for more than two years. I just asked him about it and he says he thinks that the criteria one needs to meet to rent a car (if under the age of 25) is dependent on the renter. i.e. different places have different rules for drivers under 25. You could, perhaps check a couple of the rental places in Tobago before you resign yourself to motor bikes, k?
I hope this info is correct and is helpful. :)

Have a wonderful stay in Tobago! :D

Hi Tom

Yes, Carla is quite right. The restriction is not a government one, it is simply that MOST - but not all - rental agencies (or at least their insurance companies) insist on hirers being 25 or over.

Yes, you will require a full, valid licence. A provisional licence will not do.

The only motorbike hirer that I know is Sheppy's. You could email him and ask.
