We are booking for 2 weeks in late November 2004> All the reviews on this brilliant site helped our final choice. Can anyone tell us which rooms face towards Store Bay as other posts suggest these seem to have the best view and are the quietest?

Many thanks

In January 2003 we had a first-floor room looking towards Store Bay, which I think was 246. This year we switched to overlooking Coco Beach and had a first-floor room, 249, which I much preferred.

Both rooms were quiet enough for us (although the a/c in 249 was quieter). We were disturbed by noise coming from the beach at Store Bay, particularly at weekends, because it is a public beach and, by definition, noisy: e.g. reggae music and loudhailers commentating on a water polo match ... On the other hand, the rooms looking towards Coco Beach suffer from the hotel's own band playing until 11 pm, which is very slightly quieter on the Store Bay side at that time of night. However, since they always shut down by 11 at the latest you probably won't be that bothered and we only were because we are early birds not night owls.

So, if you want to overlook Store Bay you need to ask for a room with even numbers, e.g. 244, 246 etc., or on the ground floor beginning with a 1, and for the other side of the corridor overlooking the hotel's beach they are odd numbers, e.g. 249, and our friends travelling with us had the room below us this year, 149, and were very happy with it.
