Soul less, you could be staying almost anywhere in the world

Having spent the previous week seeing some of the beautiful island of Tobago we decided to spend the last 3 days of our holiday here. That was 3 days too many.
Whilst Coco Reef obviously strives to portray an image of luxury, they seem to fail in almost every area. Everything about the place is artificial, resulting in no atmosphere whatsoever.
All the staff seem like robots, coming out with 'have a nice day' and 'your welcome' to almost everything we said to them. If only the management would allow staff to demonstrate some of their own personality then this could be a much more enjoyable place to stay.
We had read good reviews of the Tamarad restaurant so decided to give it a go despite the expensive price tag. The food was appalling for a restaurant of this (or almost any) quality. The starters were standard pre-prepared fodder that required no innovative cooking whatsoever i.e. basically prawn cocktail etc. The main courses (I had Beef and my wife fish) were totally tasteless and over cooked. Not what you would expect from a quality hotel.
The only good thing about our stay (apart from leaving) was lying on the beach and swimming in the lagoon, very relaxing. Having said that even the beach and lagoon are artificial.
If you want to experience the real Tobago don't stay here.
