We (my partner and 2 friends) fly out for our fist visit to Tobago a week on Friday and after extensive searching on this fantastic website - have settled on 2 weeks at the Ocean Air villas (a lot to do with your review Steve back in April).

Just wondering though, will we need a car for the entire 2 weeks or will 1 week suffice. Are there restaurants or bars nearby or within walking distance. I understand we are not too far from the Hilton.

Really looking forward to it now and getting quite excited - just 9 days to go!!!

Hello Angela

Well, it's a lovely apartment - a real home away from home - so you should be in for a good time.

The Hilton is a pleasant five-minute walk across the golf course and has a number of bars and restaurants, from the casual open-air beach restaurant to the full a-la-carte evening jobbie. You also have the Golf Club restaurant/bar which is about a 15-minute walk across the greens. Other than that, there's nothing within walking distance.

How long you need a car will entirely depend upon what you want to do. You're literally on the golf course and the Rockly Bay beach is a 3-minutes walk across a green. With all the facilities of the Hilton and the golf course you could easily spend your entire two weeks on the Tobago Plantations golf course. Have you had a word with Sally Miller, the owner? She's lovely and will be a big help, so don't hesitate to discuss your plans with her and she will be able to advise accordingly.
