Bijou des Caraibes consists of four self-catering apartments – one two-bedroom apartment, one one-bedroom apartment and two double bed studio apartments.

The air-conditioned self-contained apartments are simple, but comfortable. Guests enjoy shared use of the attractive swimming pool in truly beautiful gardens which are a riot of colour. Rates are highly attractive and start at US$50 per night for a single bedroom studio apartment, rising to $119 per night for the two-bedroom apartment. A full laundry service is available, at nominal charge, and two Suzuki jeeps can be hired by guests at very competitive rates.

Bijou des Caraibes is located high on Mount Irvine, overlooking the Mt. Irvine golf course and providing beautiful views of Buccoo Reef and the Caribbean Sea. Buccoo Beach is less than a five minute drive and Mt Irvine Bay Beach only marginally further. The location is absolutely ideal for touring every part of the island. Like most places, though, we would strongly recommend every visitor to hire a vehicle. You will miss an awful lot being grounded in one place or reliant upon taxis.

Bijou’s strongest feature by far, however, is Trinidadian owner Judith Gemmet. Swiss husband Yvon could not have provided Judy with a more appropriate name – she truly is a gem. Nothing is too much trouble. Never have I experienced a hostess so prepared to go that extra mile to ensure that her guests have a wonderful holiday. Woe betides the local taxi service that lets down one of her guests (as happened during our stay). Judy’s reputation preceded our visit and we were not disappointed. However, be warned – early booking is essential at Bijou Des Caraibes.

We have just returned from a two weeks stay with Judy and Yvon. They were exceptional hosts, they make you feel more like family than guests and we cannot recommend it highly enough.
Their gardens and pool area are superb,it was a pleasure to be in the pool and watching Humming birds feeding on the nectar from shrubs and flowers surrounding the pool. All her staff are excellent and helpful.
I agree with previous comments that a car or jeep are almost essential.
Our most relaxing and enjoyable winter holiday ever and we will certainly return

I could not agree more than with the previous comments made about this accomodation. The welcome was superb and nothing was too much trouble for Judy. We had a wonderfull time here and highly recommend it to future visitors to Tobago. I agree that car hire (or one of the jeeps available) is essential to get around, but that is probably the case with most accomodation on the island.
If the opportunity arises in the future for us to return to Tobago we will certainly base ourselves at the Bijou.

We have just had the most wonderful holiday on Tobago staying at Bijou Des Carabies. Judy,Yvon and Yann made us part of their family the moment we arrived. We were looked after from the moment we stepped out of the airport to the moment we were dragged away - none of us wanted to go home!! I could go on and on about how fantastic our stay here was but it is much easier just to say that everything was perfect for a great family holiday. Excellent family accomadation for those wanting to do their own thing, good location and hospitality that has made a friendship for ever. We will be back soon.

we arrived and were met by judy very late at night having been delayed but she waited at the airport until we arrived and had made sure we had groceries in the apartment.
the apartment was clean and comfortable and the hospitality second to none
judy arranged for xmas lunch with the family and i cant think of anywhere i would rather be on xmas day. we swam on grange beach early in the morning and then joined the gemmett family for a wonderful meal and spent the afternoon in great company with wonderful views-just a perfect day-just a perfect holiday
