Thinking of buying a Sealife DC 310 Pro - Any reviews

For my forthcoming trip to Tobago - I'm going to buy an u/w digi camera. I like the look of the DC310 as it's got a nice external flash and the camera can be used on land.

Has anyone got one or have any opinions?

Thanks
Marco

Hi Marco,
I'm a Sony digital convert so know nothing about the DC310. but you could have a look at
http://www.digideep.com or http://www.digitaldiver.net

Both the sites have lots of info on various digital setups

good luck.

Hiya Marco,

Don't know the camera you refer to but be aware that there a good number of housings available for standard digital cameras and the prices are reasonable. To give you an example I've just bought a Casio Z40, the U/W housing for this costs £189.00 and is rated to 40m. There are similar ones available for many of the Sony range also. I guess it comes down to where you'll be using most

Hi Marco,
I agree with the comment from James. These days a good standard digital camera is getting pretty cheap and most now have good underwater housings.

A dedicated under water may have some advantages in the water but will it be as much use out of the water?

Thanks guys. Since I posted, I haven't really found too much positive feedback and went back to the drawing board.

I think I've found the one I want...but nobody does a housing for it yet by the looks of things. It's a Panasonic FZ3 and the tech. spec is very impressive, especially the 12x optical zoom and Leica lenses. It also has image stabilisation for those long distance shots.

My girlfriend is in the US at the moment - and I've found it for $320 which seems a great price. Maybe I'll just have to go without taking underwater shots until the housing comes out.

Hi Marco.
You could check with http://www.camerasunderwater.co.uk 08700 660384 if anyone knows if there is an underwater housing they will.
