Hello All,
6 Weeks and counting !! Going to Tobago for Chrimbo, it'll be our first time. Could anyone please advise us about what currency to take. We've read in travel guides, that Tobago accepts US $ as well as their local currency. Is this true ? Are we be better off taking both or just one, or more of one sort than the other ?
So many questions I know, but who else better to ask than your very own good selves.
Look forward to hearing from you.

Hi Bill & Kate

Check out our Article on the subject. There's also tons of discussion on this in the forum.

In brief, the most convenient method is to pay for as much as possible by credit card (in local currency - avoid anywhere that tries to charge in US$). Take a couple of hundred quid in TT$ before you go, or use an ATM machine at the airport to draw it locally. Then simply draw it on your Barclaycard/Visa card as needed.
