Provided you behalf sensibly and apply common sense, Tobago is as safe a place as you will find anywhere. Lots of single women and ladies go to Tobago becuase they feel safe there.

Not exactly a single traveller but my wife is a bit of a dive widow and often spends time wandering around on her own she has never has any problem and always says how friendly every one is.

You should have no worries

I think it was best explained to me while I was sitting on wall waiting for her come out of church chatting to a couple of the locals. I mentioned how friendly every one was to tourists and the pointed out I wasn't a tourist I was a guest.
