Hello from Chicago. Will be visiting Barbados in March and plan on doing some island hopping either to St. Vincent or Tobago. Any information on cost of flights between Barbados and Tobago? Any suggestions on which airline and how to get the best fare. Has anyone used frequent Flier miles on either American or US Air to island hop? I'm also very interested in bonefishing on Tobago (my main reason for wanting to visit Tobago instead of St.Vincent, just don't tell my girlfriend.) Any recommendations on where to stay cheaply near Friendship (between the Crown Point airport and Lowlands), Plymouth or Pigeon Pt? Thanks in advance and send some warm air up this way!

Jason - both LIAT and Cartibbean Star airlines service the Barbados to Tobago route daily using Dash 8 turboprop aircraft and taking a between 50 minutes and 1 hour 40 minutes depending on route. Some Caribbean Star outbound flights go via Grenada the returns are all direct. Fares vary a lot but I just did a quick check and LIAT was offering two fares US$154 per person for a return ticket booked 30 days in advance or US$238 with less advance booking. Caribbean Star seemed better value at US$232.20 for 2 people return but there were booking conditions that you need to check out. Both offer online booking on their websites. American Airlines used to fly from Puerto Rico to Tobago but I believe they now fly Miami to Port of Spain where you could connect to Tobago or Barbados.
