Hi Steve

Great site - so glad we found it! We are just about to book flights to Tobago on the 15th Jan for three weeks. We're looking at staying in accomodation similar to the Mango inn or Merles place, $30-$60 per night. At present we plan to book somewhere for the first week, hire scooters and explore the beautiful island with a view to moving on to differant accomodation should we choose for the rest of the trip. Can you advise us how easy it is to get accomodation of this sort on an ad-hoc basis at this time of year. We would rather not book all of our accomodation in order to give us the freedom to explore, but are a little nervous of ending up with no where to stay. Your advice would be greatly appreciated.

Thanks,

Helen and Jamie

Hi Helen

Welcome aboard.

In general, the number of beds available in small guesthouses, etc., outstrips the number of visitors on the island, so you should always be able to find somewhere. However, as anywhere, you have to accept that you might have to be very flexible in terms of price/location and facilities, etc.
