Carnival 2005

We have timed our visit to coincide with the 2005 carnival and have every intention of having a full-on Tobago experience. However, we could do with a spot of logistical advice about the local carnival as we are unlikely to make it over to Trinidad.

Specifically, if anyone can give us an idea of the best places to see/participate; whether hiring a car is preferable to a taxi to get there; typical start/finish times; and generally anything else to help us get more excited than we are already!

We will be staying at the Turtle Beach.

Many thanks in advance

Phill, don't listen to Paul, thats for Dirty Mas where everybody gets covered in mud and muck(allegedly boiled to sterilise it!!!!).I am heading in by taxi on Tuesday morning-early.It will be almost impossible to park.I'll send you a pm on the best place to be.

THe best place to be would be scarboruogh. It is there all the carnival activties in tobago takes place. It would be best to get your own transport when on the island, wether you hire your own taxi driver or rent a car.The idea is free movements when wanted...juvuert is a must see.that starts from usually 1-2am monday morning continuing into the wee morning hours. From the friday or even thursday night of the week before fete as we call it starts, everynight at scarborough.if you rent a car the best place to park would be down town around sanksterhill junc or up town at the old market square car park, this gives you easy departure when ready.Any other ques... you can email me...have yourself and enjoyable time when here for the season
