Sun Shades on the Beach

Hi
My wife and I are about to return to the CoCo Reef in September 2005. Last time we were there was May 2003 when we had a fantastic time.

My only gripe was needing to get a towel on a sunbed at 6:30am in order to secure some shade for my wife who cannot sit in the sun.

It looks as though this is still the case and as more people realise it, the time gets pushed to being earlier and earlier.
No wonder the bars are empty by 11pm everyone is in bed as they need to get up early!

Booking the Tamaras restaurant seems to be suffering with the same problem.

I would have thought the hotel management would have read this forum as it is the best.

Is there a solution?

hi
We've just returned from Coco Reef, and yes..you do have to reserve very early for the shade sunbeds, but my hubbie Dave wakes early, so that wasn't a problem. He then reserved Tamaras at 7am on his return. At night we used to have a walk on the beach, only to find some people had reserved their beds the night before!!!! However, in the morning they found that thier 'belongings' had been handed into reception as 'lost' items!! These same people had been doing this every night and some days not going to their sunbeds until 2pm!!! I think that is really mean.
Anyway, it takes all sorts doesn't it?
Have a great time
Ruth

Thanks Ruth for the update.
I mentioned this as a concern to the hotel today and they say they have recently purchased sufficient portable parasols for all guests to have.
